  1. It's no use nagging me, I don't know. 😉 I don't think anyone at Rails is paying attention to this thread and it doesn't appear that they are monitoring notifications generated by adding @... either. Plus I think copying my post just notifies me and not Warren and Oliver too. The Rails website hasn't changed for ages and one could be forgiven for wondering if they're not owning up to some kind of additional delay. If the A5s were going to arrive in "summer 2022" then the container(s) exact location would already be known and a more accurate delivery date/month would be available. Like with so many things at the moment we'll just have to continue to be patient.
  2. Yes, it's true. There definitely fewer trees in Nottinghamshire and you don't see so many men in tights these days. 🤭
  3. Not much sign of the pit anymore. There's a country park and some houses but it is mainly warehousing now. However, there a small monument: https://i2-prod.coventrytelegraph.net/incoming/article6786109.ece/ALTERNATES/s1227b/utils.jpg
  4. He probably can't decide between the ditch and the bulldozer he was going to lie down in front of in order to prevent the third runway at Heathrow (in his constituency) being built. (The one he felt so strongly about that he was absent from Parliament on the day of the vote.) I expect he is waiting for a rich friend to buy him a freezer to hide in, in exchange for a peerage.
  5. He said it when asked about extending the Brexit deadline from October 31st. Not long before the deadline was extended by three months.

"Cattle excursion." I have an image now: when the train arrives at the dock the cattle will disembark wearing sun hats and sunglasses and carrying beach umbrellas and picnic hampers. 🥳

    EBay madness

The discount is shared between the retailer and eBay. I do not know the proportions but I was told this by a retailer.
  8. Thompson rebuilt the P2s as A2/2s during WWII. The choice of liveries is therefore LNER green or wartime black (with NE or LNER depending on the locomotive). If you can get hold of a copy of Volume 9 of Yeadon's Register of LNER Locomotives you may find the photographs you are looking for.
  9. A giant leap for lambkind. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-62574580
  10. Reading the reports this morning from the hustings for our next PM, I couldn't help but think it was an odd thing to be encouraging more of. graft noun the acquisition of money, gain, or advantage by dishonest, unfair, or illegal means, especially through the abuse of one's position or influence in politics, business, etc. Mind you, it will help with levelling up if this is no longer confined to the cabinet. 😀
  11. @Howard SmithHoward, I don't suppose you know where Pete is taking his layout next do you?
  12. Has anyone tried this kind of thing? https://www.amazon.co.uk/Molain-Protectors-Resistant-Accessories-Scrapbooking/dp/B09BKX8L76/ref=d_pd_sbs_sccl_2_3/258-8219959-0639149 This particular example also seems ideally suited to soldering, remembering those articles where the instructions seemed to say "hold part A with your left hand, hold part B with your right hand and with the soldering iron in your other hand ..." 🥸
  13. It is thorough in its hiding. I looked at the thread last night and clicked "thanks" against one of the more recent posts and I can't even see evidence of that in my profile where it shows reactions.
  14. It will drag on until 5th September unless one of the remaining two drops out.
  15. I note the Wikipedia entry also says "Then, during the harsh winter of 1978–1979 he was appointed Minister for Snow." You couldn't make it up.
  16. You studied astrology at college? I thought people just made it up. 😀
  17. Looking good, Stu. If I may make a suggestion. In my experience, those bookshelves bow after a while if they are carrying anything other than paperback books. If you were to add three vertical braces now whilst the shelves are flat they would stay that way. A simple length of "furniture panel" cut into three tightly fitting lengths would do the trick. It could even be a slightly shallower depth and white if you can't find a matching grey, as the braces would blend in amongst the books, especially since you are looking down onto the unit.
  18. Of course you may have everything planned out already but as something different from walking the hills and mountains I can recommend: - the Highline179 (we caught a bus from Füssen to Reutte) - https://www.highline179.tirol/en - hire bicycles in Füssen and spend an afternoon cycling around the Forggensee, mostly on good quality cycleways (we tried the cycle hire at the station first but they didn't have four available that day and we ended up hiring from a hotel on the main street which actually turned out cheaper)
  19. Anyone visited? http://www.nationalgasmuseum.org.uk/
  20. Thanks Karl. That's thoughtful of you. Unfortunately though it is a D11/2 i.e. Scottish region with several fittings altered to fit the smaller loading gauge. I may end up altering one of these but since I'm in no hurry, I'll wait to see if Bachmann decide to produce a model for the main LNER period.
  21. @Warren Rails @Oliver Rails and just in case you know @Revolution Ben Is there an update on the date please? We're nearly at the end of "Summer 2022" as quoted on the Rails website. (I have a reason why I'm asking. I'm not just idly nagging.)

What Nanny Ogg's cat?! I don't think you want to be drinking that, Rob.
  23. Including to and from Germany and no passports involved. Such a straightforward system.
