Managed to be in the right place at the right time to get the NMT passing the yard last week.

49769851608_ec5bd8a8fd_h.jpgHigh Speed (Test) Train by Steadfast Fotography, on Flickr

A sound not heard as often since GWR's HSTs finished, 43062 'John Armitt' powers up as it heads south out of Westbury working 1Q23 Reading to Salsibury, passing 59203 sitting in Westbury Down Yard after a very early arrival with 7V62 from Southampton to Whatley. 66004 hides to the right.

That last one would make an ideal and very modellable train for those who can't fit a full HST set! No doubt there would still be some that say "that never happened" though!

An unidentified HST passes through Theale with a down West of England train (mid-late 80s). I must have been mad to go out photographing trains on a day like that. This was the only train I saw and I had to cycle up a steep hill to get home.
