Popular Post pitbull1845
are you going to put up some portacabin offices and maybe a grab crane for the scrap traffic siding? What was the boundary fencing from? regards Paul Hi Paul,I have a small office at the siding and I've built a Kibri grab type crane, there's not a lot of room for anything else. The fencing is from scalemodelscenery.co.uk. it's just card.. Edited October 22, 2018 by pitbull1845

Popular Post pitbull1845
Hi, Had one of those rare mornings where I actually had time to myself, so after the household chores I retired to the man cave. Had another go with static grass and also had a tidy up around the Hard standing area. (Still not sure what they do here, but always seems busy) And from there we move around to the main works and inparticular, the goods out siding.Unusually, 37114 is stabled up there today. That's it for today, I'll let the glue dry now.. Edited October 25, 2018 by pitbull1845

woodenhead
Hi.. Believe it or not things continue to progress with Bocott Steel. There are still a lot of bits to do, the grey roof is just placed on at the moment, it will be covered in the blue sheeting eventually. I've yet to complete the shunter maintenance shed too. 20181004_155331_resized.jpg20181004_155402_resized.jpg20181004_155416_resized.jpg Rolling stock is still minimal at the moment, but there are rumours that a Janus shunter may arrive at some point in the near future, the finance dept are just doing their sums. That's it for now. Did you get your Janus, just saw this in Bargain Hunters http://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/125236-bargain-hunters-mark-2/page-61&do=findComment&comment=3343323
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted October 25, 2018 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 25, 2018 Yes it's been interesting, I need to restock your supplies when payday comes! No panic there as I don’t have anything in the pipeline needing grass. Just nice to see it being used so effectively.

Unfortunately they're now out of stock otherwise I would've purchased another to keep it company..
Marcus 37
Hi Scott Looking really good mate. The static grass has made the world of difference giving that unkempt look so familiar with industrial sidings. And just in case you think you've over done it check out the picture below.......
pitbull1845
Thanks Marcus,Somehow I don't think mine would run through weeds that tall!In other news, I finished off ballasting last night so hopefully will be ready for a bit more scenic work when its dry.. Then I can get back to running trains, after a very good clean of the track and points!
Popular Post pitbull1845
Hi, With a wet Sunday afternoon there was only one option and that was to go out to the man cave. I've finally finished off the ballasting and today gave the layout a test. After a good track clean, everything seemed to be working ok. I've also fixed the large crane in place outside of the main building and painted the hard standing. Good news from Cavalex with their announcement of their new wagon, I think I will be pre ordering a few. I also note that Hattons are now selling the BP Janus loco for less than £50, tempted to get one and remove the logo, and heavily weather it. I'll leave you with some pictures of the works area. Marcus 37
Looking good Scott. Really nice job on the crane and loving all those Sectorised split box 37's. I've noticed Hattons have even dropped the price on the British Steel Janus as well although still not as cheap as the BP version. Cheers Marcus

pitbull1845
Thanks for the comments, still a lot to do scenically but it's the furthest I've got with a layout so far!
Leon
Scott, Looking amazing mate, Hopefully we can both reach "the finish line" with our layouts this time, I have set a deadline for Christmas for mine which is achievable. all the best mate.
pitbull1845
Afternoon, Today I've had a day to myself, the first part was spent working on the layout. I decided to start work on the scenic fiddle yard. However I think its going to become just another part of the layout rather than a FY. Ballasting was the main task today, and I managed to achieve that. I'll do the points separately when I'm less rushed. The scenics will be fairly straight forward, with a reataining wall to the rear, just deciding whether to use a photo backscene or just use the blue paint.. The crew room will probably stay as this will be a BR yard, rather than part of the steel works, So staff will need a mess.. That's about it for now, Leon I'll aim for Christmas too.
