Hornby have posted on Facebook today they are excited about 28th March.... and included a photo of what looks to be Pete Waterman in front of the camera.

Not sure if this is a new announcement, or just a bit of hype for the next “Engine shed” blog.

Wonder what the connection with Pete Waterman will be....

He's bought Hornby and intends to drop all the railroad stuff in favour of highly detailed models with proper valve gear and inside motion as well.

Only 3 link couplings and only GWR and LMS locomotives.

Only S7 as well

As I understand it, Pete is leading a team to build a 100' long 00 gauge layout for Chester Cathedral and Hornby is also involved, sounds like quite a project!

Well it's one way to arrest falling numbers of churchgoers.

A new feature on the Hornby Signal Box is a memories slot and Pete is sharing his on the 28th. Anyone can do this by sending an email to marketing.

Can you discuss your first railway with a Mainline Royal Scot, Peak and a J72.  :D

Eventually I did get a B17 but that was my only Hornby first time around.

Maybe Hornby are going to load Stock, Aitken & Waterman's complete back catalogue into their sound decoders?

Nobody will be able to tell whether the decoders are Dead or Alive............

And what’s the betting that there’ll be some tough questioning over JLTRT? :diablo_mini:

No, I didn’t think so.

or the state of some of his abandoned “preserved” locos, his Peak for example?

Apparently Pete Waterman is doing a Train "through the ages" exhibition at Chester Cathedral, originally due to open in July.

Surprised not to have seen any more comment on this, which leaves me wondering if it happened. Would anyone care to enlighten those of us who don't use Facebook etc.? Advance apologies if there's something relevant elsewhere which I haven't found.

Hoping All remain well in these difficult times.

Regards,
