RMweb Gold colin penfold Posted October 4, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 4, 2015 Oh dear, I had promised myself I wasn't buying any more BRMs with their multiple typos and unreadable (if they even bother) track plans. But, seeing as you're in it.....

RMweb Gold colin penfold Posted October 5, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 5, 2015 Colin, Waverley's track plan is in the feature. Cool, I shall wait to see if there are big red arrows showing where the photos were taken, covering all the important point work.
Grimleygrid
Very nice Dave! Do you have many sound fitted locos? Apologies in advance if you have discussed this previously. I can imagine the noise in the tunnel of both the 26 and 37!
lmsforever
The shot with the 37 is brilliant as usual well done.
LongRail
Dave I was looking through the book "Blue Diesels and British Rail Sandwiches" (part of my railway porn collection) I recognised a photo of the front of Haymarket (April 1981) It was a testament to your modelling that I recognised it straight away

I can imagine the noise in the tunnel of both the 26 and 37! Hi Alex, All locos placed on the layout have sound fitted. Otherwise they don't get to run until they do. It just doesn't seem right without it these days. That's just my subjective view of course though. Cheers Dave

Haymarket depot will sound great with all those locos idling away! I cannot see me fitting all my locos with sound, unless of course I win the lottery..... I cannot see me fitting all my locos with sound, unless of course I win the lottery..... I do have quite a few and I daren't add up the cost of them all. Fortunately, I have most of the locos that I need/want now, having acquired many of them before the price hikes of the past few years. New purchases of locos at least will be pretty limited for the foreseeable future I think, although there are some in boxes awaiting weathering and sound-fitting as funds and time permit. Cheers Dave

Fortunately, I have most of the locos that I need/want now, having acquired many of them before the price hikes of the past few years. Probably best not to! Sounds like you are pretty much sorted with your fleet though, which as you say is a good job, especially with the recent price hikes. I took the decision to spend most of my money on getting the layout, might be a shortage of traction in a few years!
Waverley West
Dave I was looking through the book "Blue Diesels and British Rail Sandwiches" (part of my railway porn collection) I recognised a photo of the front of Haymarket (April 1981) It was a testament to your modelling that I recognised it straight away Thanks Gary, that is really good to know. The "instantly recognisable" bit is exactly what I'm after. It was the same with the station. It's all about selective compression, proportions and atmosphere, I think.
