HI Ray

I do like what you have done with the over turned lorry, looks very good mate.

Dart casting does a very nice policeman in their range of figures, if you are looking for one.

All the very best

Darren

A small update

I have been making two sheets and rope on the lorry in the timber yard.

The rope is made from cotten wound up like the drivers do there ropes. The sheets are made of paper folded up again the same way as drivers do and painted green with water colours, the sheets rope wound round at each end is made of cotten.

Ray,

Just caught up on the latest developments.

It looks great, but I fear the wrong wheel has come off the sand lorry. Should it not have been the front off side wheel to make the lorry tip that way?

Regards

Richard

If it came off and the lorry veered left then hit the bridge parapet then tipped over that would work, the top would need to come off the stone pillar though!

  • 4 weeks later...

I have been building a PDK kit of an (BR)S M7 30670 To go on Yard Shunter. It was built at Nine Elms in 1897, in 1931 it went to my home shed Feltham (70B) ware I worked as a fireman till 1967, 1937 it to went to Ilfracombe till 1948 at Barnstaple Junction (72E) till 1951 at Exmouth Junction then back to Barnstaple Junction at 1961, then it was scrapped at Eastleigh in 1961.

It was built short frames / front sandboxes on Splashers, lever Reverse and did not have the push and pull Westernhouse brake.

The kit was very easy to build, just a small problem with the boiler fit between the two tanks.

Here it is before the primer was put on.

Still plenty to do.

It has been very enjoyable to build.

HI Ray

The mate is looking very good indeed!, one thing is the cab roof soldered on? if it is ,is it going to be hard to paint the inside if the cab?.

I can not believe how quick you have put this loco together ,keep the photo coming mate.

All the best

Darren

Very nice indeed Ray, but it seems to have aquired a rather strange extra boiler fitting in the last photo......

Hi Darren

The roof is soldered on but I dont think it will be to hard to paint inside the cab.

Thanks for your comment.

I think the black looked better than malachite. Will it have sound too? I must have missed you and Mudmagnet at TRAC on Saturday, I was too comfy in my armchair!

Hi Graham

This loco was always in black when in BR days. Not planning to have sound at the moment but maybe in the future.

Richard and I enjoyed the show. It was a very good show full marks for effort.

Hi Ray, love the pics of the crashed lorry, a lot better than the little effort I made on Loch Leven. Keep the pics of the M7 coming, I had the Hornby one and fitting the chip was a nightmare, I took the chip out to sell it and then my mate bought it and asked me to fit a chip into it again, twice the NIGHTMARE, hahahah. All the best Andy.
