Rare and Unique LT Class 24

Putting aside the question as to why one would wish to repaint a Class 24 into a fictional LT livery, this model can’t  be that “rare and unique” as the seller has a second one for sale.

Another “Rare and Unique” LT Class 24

Unless of course they are the same model listed twice…

Cheers

I noticed these - aside from the fictitious livery they are also fairly typical of the 'on the cheap' Class 24 conversions that people used to do to Hornby 25s, which basically involved carving off the headcode box without tackling the doors, underframe and roof details that all need changing. It's not that they have no value, but project material such as this has to meet my sub-£20 threshold to be worth a second look.

Indeed there seems to be only one loco for sale. The picture for the second item is also the second picture for the first. One is auction and one is buy-it-now.  Sure that's not allowed...

A wonderful loco to add to your collection.

I don't think its something I'd run even under Rule 1!

As for Murdoch and the Milk Tank, they're Hornby Thomas and now RARE!  I suppose we should be thankful that its not L@@K RARE!!!

I know they are out of production but they aren't worth that much.

I don't think you'd find anyone here who would argue with that assessment!

Sadly, I don't have a Murdoch but I do have three of the tankers, never been used and in mint boxes.

I mean the boxes are in mint condition not that they formerly contained thin mints to be consumed after 20:00!

Never mind, I don't need any more, especially at that price!

Milk tanks, not mints...

It's the train set version of Hornby's GWR Holden No.101, chassis turned back to front, cylinders cut off, new tanks etc etc. I like the way that when they reshaped the cab doorways, they left about 2/3 of the GWR number plate on the cab side.

But the C14, which it is supposed to be an interpretation of, HAS cylinders, so why cut them off. And where's the coal bunker, may I ask?

Its just a poor copy of a Nellie....

I am honestly baffled. A milk tanker that costs how much?

Especially as it's just the old 1970s train set "United dairies" tanker with an even more toylike makeover.

You're lucky to get a fiver for one of those!

That too, I was trying to be "positive and non-judgmental".  :jester:

Didn't work, did it...

Nope.

For various.reasons I am not feeling particularly charitable today.

He's also offering a set of three of the same Thomas milk tanks for £42, but the difference is those three have the lettering printed in blue whereas the one you've spotted is printed in red lettering and he says that's "Rare".  If he can get a collector to pay that for it, good luck to him.
