winterbournecm
The scheduled 7Z26 ran a day later later than suggested. It departed Westbury 1st October at 06.30 running as 6Z26 with 59004 in charge. The weather was foul, so I did a close up station shot at St Austell. The train departed later in the afternoon 15.34 as 6Z27.
winterbournecm
This flow seems to be settling into a once a week treat lately - long may it continue. 59005 brightened the gloom of a Dec day today with 7Z27 11.48 Burngullow to Exeter Riverside. I'll pop the picture taken in glorious full cloud at Par later on.

Clay Country
Nice to see another 59 visiting Cornwall. Is this the first time the sand has run two consecutive weeks?
winterbournecm
A good week for aggregates! Sand is scheduled Sun 12th / Mon 13th & Thurs / Fri (Two trips). I have been told that the down Sun working may have fuel tanks included for BZ. Pity it runs at night.

The extra sand trips will undoubtedly be because there are no daytime paths for freights via Yeovil for the 3 week Whiteball blockade.
winterbournecm
Cheers Cap'n. The consist for 7Z26 is in, 59005 18 MT stone wagons and 4 TTA's - when was a class 59 last diagrammed on a fuel train? Mr Stockman took a picture of one in 2010! If specifically in Cornwall it could be 59204 with 6Z62 Westbury-St Blazey on 26/10/11? Certainly rare! Cheers, Jack

winterbournecm
Time to re start this topic I think: Sun 14th June 6V11 runs down during the evening from Westbury arriving Burngullow 00.34 Returns Mon 15th June 6C10 12.53 Burngullow to Exeter Riverside (first portion) Loco returns 0C10 16.05 from Exeter to St Blazey 0C12 19.44 St Blazey to Burngullow 6L12 21.26 Burngullow to Bow Depot Timings may be slightly out depending on loading. Loco may not return to BZ either, may run direct to Burngullow. 66118 in DBS red allocated already Talk of MEA wagons - which would be very interesting... RMweb Gold Ramblin Rich Posted June 14, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 14, 2015 Any freight in the south west is a bonus. I caught sight of the Imerys polybulks heading north last week, the first real freight (not counting sandite and engineering) I've seen this year...! winterbournecm
Today's first run, first portion. 66118 looks rather spick and span compared to the shabby MEAs. Come to Cornwall for 4 wheeled wagon freight trains!! Daryl was over seeing events and wisely placed an unloaded wagon at the rear of the second portion. I was glad for some good old fashioned shunting around in the sunshine. And finally, on the move passing Carlyon Bay - just as the sun went in, never mind. Clay Country
A few miles up the line, 66118 passes St Austell with the first portion of loaded MEAs for Exeter Riverside. One of those rare occasions where the sun went in for the DMU.

Iron Horse
Has the 2nd load been collected? I seem to have lost track of the movements on RTT overnight, either that or I'm being a bit thick.......lol!!!!!!!!!
winterbournecm
Yes the second portion ran last night. The empty wagon on the rear is a precaution against and riding up over that could occur with heavy wagons "sandwiching" an empty one. We've had issues with empty CDAs in rakes popping up before. RMweb Gold Ramblin Rich Posted June 16, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted June 16, 2015 Ah, I see - a wagon without a load marshalled in a sensible position; I thought it was being left unloaded intentionally for some obscure reason!
Garry Morris
Surely the best thing is to leave the unloaded wagon behind ready for the next trip?
Iron Horse
Is that a return service I see just pulling into Exeter as I type? Hope this continues for a while, so good to see some extra freight in the South West
RichardTrevithick
Is that a return service I see just pulling into Exeter as I type? Hope this continues for a while, so good to see some extra freight in the South West Second working is 66118 again and MEA wagons although is rumoured to be going over to bigger wagons at some point soon. There will be two trains at Burngullow today as the CDA's from Fowey will be heading out there this morning to load on the Parkandillack branch. Iron Horse
I see this hasn't run again for a few weeks, does anybody know the sort of frequency that is intended? Or was it more of a one off? Cheers
