Specials, railtours and excursions on Cornwall's branches & mainline

Why did they go all the way to Laira to turn the Princess when the turntable at BZ is supposed to be working now?

Ed

6201 is roughly six inches longer than 46233, so wouldn't fit on the turntable at St Blazey.  46233 was over hanging the bridge when she was turned, quite a sight to watch.

The highlight of the year is the first visit of “Tornado” to the Duchy on 29th May (the tour has unsurprisingly already sold out), although two DRS 37’s on Mazey Day will be of interest to diesel fans. Again it is unclear what the arrangements will be for turning steam loco’s on the Royal Duchy excursions. All will probably become clearer nearer the time.

ALL INFORMATION SUBJECT TO CONFIRMATION.

6023 eh ooooh I really hope so. None of those things from lesser railways please - though a West Country might just pass muster. ;)

- a King into the Duchy - now you're talking.

Nice to see Network Rail have improved on the GWR/WR pway and taken the route to Par up to Double Red route availability.

I'd love to see that.

Best regards

Went for a family walk quite early this morning, shame about the view! We got to see the trains progress from Camborne, through Redruth and onwards.

Tornado went to the seaside today, and wow, there were huge numbers of people our watching. Here are a couple of photos as she passed the site of Carn Brea station, about 35 minutes late.
