I blame sigg69 for this. Was looking at the trix coach sides, and a idea came to me.

Needs a bit more work, but surprisingly good so far for a 1st test build.

Actually looks better in screen than in the flesh.

And this is a never to be sighted at sheffield exchange either.

Trix sides, Replica suburban ends, Tri-ang roofs. And a 1mm strip added to the bottom of the sides.

What I would call a |Heinz Variety!

Well done!

If I attempted something like this it would end up more filler than anything else?

Probably the same railway starting all their Simplex Motor-rails simultaneously.

Not all of them, but will two do?

Fell over (not literally!) this engineers train when out for a walk yesterday.

New recruit standing at the rear of 2nd Simplex:-

"Where is the coal?"

And, No, we didn't have any earthquakes yesterday!

Cheers to you All

Hi Paul

That is a narra gauge train I could model. None of this cute toy town passenger railways.

Afternoon Clive,

I think the line's history as a freight line shifting sand to the standard gauge Leighton Buzzard to Dunstable line still influences its look and its running. The stations while passenger friendly are a bit basic (no shelter except in the booking office/shop for instance!)

It is only 20mins walk from my house and when I take one of my favourite walks I cross the line five or six times (all level crossings, no bridges!)

Cheers

Paul

The Electric Toothbrush

Hi Dr Fritters,

Cut and shut about 33 years ago from Hornby HST bodies and some class 58 bogies:

I have got a Silver Fox kit to build up but I really ought to sort out classes 81-85, then do classes 86 and 87 before starting it along with the class 90's and 91.

So when are you going to make the proposed class 88? I am thinking of the one that would have been a electric class 58.

Hi Dave,

I haven't seen any drawings or I might have a go. I had thought of painting one of my spare class 86 bodies into LMS black and silver livery though.

Blame away! That looks good, ironically I'm pretty sure the windows are a tad too deep on my DC Kits 303 and it may well be that the Trix window size is closer to the real thing. In fact, that is such food for thought that it's making me hungry.....!

I have been mainly pondering things. I have made a start on a Isinglass LNER dia 40 BSK, more later. Trains have been running and behaving themselves recently. The B16/2 has had a good run the other day, it looks so funny with the connecting rod and valve gear being attached to the front driving wheel when I am use to seeing a 4-6-0 with everything on the middle driver.

One of my friends is disposing of some stock and I have acquired a nice rake of Hornby and Bachmann LMS coaches.

Tune for tonight

I have to confess, I don't know what this is.

At a guess, part of a Hadfield unit, or one of the early GE section D.C. electrics, perhaps even part of a Glasgow electric set?

Please do tell.

John.

My second AR1 turned up this week so I was able to power up the 40 year old Dapol turntable.  Or at least, what's left of a 40 year old Dapol turntable...

I managed to turn the BoB and the S15 without any problems.  So then I ran a 5 set round the layout and while it was off on its journey, turned the incoming engine so it could then become the outgoing engine.  All worked splendidly.

And now for a sausage bap and an IPA.
