Am I unusual?

I like BR blue.

But then I have a metallic light blue car which is a lovely colour.

I find blue a nice relaxing colour. Like the sea or the sky.

Hi Martin,

No, you are quite normal just like me !

I like BR Blue it is great.

Damn You Kropotkin !!!

You do realise that I have yet again peered over the abyss that is the anarchistic realm that is the nearly started box.

I am now bound to the philosophical wrangling that shall determine the outcome of my forward march into the geographic of centres of railway operations and the consequential interpolation of the social, economic and political decisions regarding my next move within the field of model locomotive renovation.

Anyway, here is what I saw in the box :

Hi Martin

Living close to the sea, it is just down the far end of my road and looking at the sky today I can safely say grey is not my favorite colour.

Blue is a great colour, well the best football team wears it.

Hi Chessy

You are not going to turn me, Sheffield Exchange is L&YR and GNR joint station after their falling out with the MS&LR in 1856. So will never have 1500 volts dangling above the tracks.

Gibbo.

That 27000 looks very tasty, as per the pics pften seen to show the loco circa 1956 when first shopped in green. I have a 27001 done in the same scheme, and my all blue "Electra" from schooldays as seen centre became "Pandora", with the attractive Electric Blue/ SYP.

You're a sensible man to have stocked a couple of resin EM1's, I think these are Silver Fox, but also marketed in a joint venture with D.C. Kits. I have some of the MSL etched kits in my cupboard, 2 plus a "Tommy" to be precise. They are awfuly fiddly to do, another one has been almost finished on my workbench for several years, I glare at it often, and it responds in kind!

I never got to see the EM2's in Britain, missed them by weeks at both Bury and Reddish, here's one at Tilburg in 1984 for the memory. Bit of a doddle pulling five coaches in Holland after lugging trains twice the length over Woodhead!

Added; The picture is actually on 5th July 1984, the train I think is the 11.09 Cologne - The Hague, and the loco was formerly 27002 "Aurora"

Hi Sandhole,

There's a variety of early stuff on my website at

John Tomlinson

If you go to "Albums" there's one on Woodhead with blue 76's in the late '70's to the end. My parents were "courting" for 8 years until 1954, had they got their act together sooner you might have had some green locos to look at, however sadly not!

But have found that I need to spend around £500 on car repairs then bill £350 to the council.

I drove right over a pinch point as road markings were useless and no bollards, and NO SIGNS,

Broke front springs and now found I have ripped part of an anti roll bar bracket off.

Had a funny noise while dropping a boy off at uni and found the roll bar had dropped onto the rear prop.

I had to disable the rolls bars to get rest of journey.

I dover over a three inch kerb without slowing

While taking pictures another car went over and it sounded like it was going to fall apart,

Apologies Clive,

I must have linked the wrong club, Watford did run out to Z-cars but not any more.

Is this the team ?

https://teamcolorcodes.com/crystal-palace-fc-colors/

All this London stuff is south of Crewe, it is all very "samey" and makes no sense to me at all what with being from a Hyperborean lineage as I am.

Hi Martyn,

Why not screw the council for the total amount plus damages to ones own person, that should sort it !

Today I went to Newark North Gate station, I met up with Mallard60022, great northern and 31A. Now we were going to met last week but it was rearranged for today, 'king cold and the wind blew my new syrup all the way to London.

It was great meeting with them, a wee bit of show and tell, swapping of models took place. Owing to the weather we all headed off home earlier than planned. First train journey this year, first meet up with fellow puffer nutters since March and first photos of trains this year.

Same unit took me to Newark and back to the fiddle yard.

My first photo of an  AZOOOOOOMMMMMEEEERRRRR.  All the worlds trains are starting to look a like.

a250.jpg.e9f0b70cd6e83f164fbf4e2ff35dc3aa.jpg

Possibly my last photo of a class 91 on the ECML.

It's been very cold, but Newark Northgate is a chilly spot. I've spent a good deal longer than I'd like in my life waiting in the cold for a connection on that island platform, especially when a delay has broken a connection. The train is usually a more hospitable option than the platform , or a rather small and cheerless waiting room (admittedly better since they put a buffet in there)

Still, human contact is valuable and we don't get enough at the present. Glad to hear it went well

Hi Paul,

How do you Brush your teeth with that, I would have thought a class 47 would be a little abrasive on the enamel.
