I think the curve to the top of the former four character headcode box should be a clue to the unit being a 118 too. ;) Best regards, Rob. Rob, don't rely on the curved top to the headcode box; although all Class 118s had the curve, the first few Class 117 vehicles (numerically) also had curved top headcode boxes. So to the first photo’, which is by loose_grip_99, on Flickr, of Hull Paragon station, on the 20th July, 1968, and it can seen that the platform canopies were still extant that year, and a class 104 unit is visible in the middle of the photo’. Hull Paragon East Yorkshire 20th July 1968 by loose_grip_99, on Flickr The second photo’ is by Patrick Welsh, on Flickr, and is of Botantic Gardens depot on the 23rd June, 1984. I remember around late 1984 the loco that hauled the freightliner started to run into Hull light engine, from where i don't know. It would pass Hessle Haven at about 16:10hrs. Previously the booked engine would run off Botanic but this was stopped for some reason; which would usually be the same old TI & HM class 37's. When the new regime started it would bring in a new variety of loco's PEAKS, 20'S and 25's on the odd occasion.
RMweb Gold Market65 Posted September 1, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 1, 2022 Good evening, everyone, and thank you, RAILWAT COTTAGES, for the memories and information about the Freightliner and the locomotives that hauled it. Now for this evening, thanks to Will’s Transport Photo’s on Flickr, we see no less than four class 20’s in Hull Paragon station on the 14th April, 2013. They are all DRS, and are 20303, 20301, 20302 and 20304. micknich2003
Ex H&BRly G3 No149, now J75 No2530, seen here at Hull Springhead June 1931. It is said an engine of this class hauled a train of 143 loaded tank wagons from Saltend to King George Dock, probably an exaggeration. RMweb Gold Market65 Posted September 3, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 3, 2022 Good evening, everyone, and thank you, Mick, for that excellent photo’. I like the story of one of that class of engine hauling 143 loaded tank wagons, like you say it must be a bit of an exaggeration. Well, this evening, thanks to a photo’ by 6Y99, on Flickr, we go to Hull Inward Yard in the summer of 1979. RMweb Gold Market65 Posted September 4, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted September 4, 2022 Good evening, everyone, and, RAILWAY COTTAGES, I have just finished looking through 6Y99’s photostream on Flickr, and there are no more photo’s of that 08.
