Hi all,

As per discussions with Stan at Glasgow....

Scottish Modellers will be providing some workshops on layout scenics.

It is hoped to cover the use of static grass with a variety of applicators.

More once we work out exactly what we have!

Thanks

Kinmundy will be making the long trek from North Wales, so looking forward to this too

First time North of the Border!

Looking forward to seeing it in Scotland for the first time. We actually have layouts coming from all four "home nations" for the first time; we have one coming from North Down Model Railway Society, Northern Ireland as well as many from England.

Seriously looking forward to exhibiting my own layout, Fairhaven Road, at this year's show. This will be its third outing, the first being Model Rail Scotland and the second Bonnybridge. It will be under my club's banner (Glasgow & West of Scotland MRC). If you are attending the show then watch for the lit and operational semaphore signals.

Just one repair to undertake before the show. A mouse got into our garage where the layout is housed and got onto the layout surface. It could see what I can only surmise it thought was something to eat but what was in fact the base of the harbour under the "water". So it chose five separate areas to scrabble away the water gel and investigate the base. Made one heck of a mess but fairly easily repairable I think. There may be traps down for the few days before the setting up!

Look for the separate thread for the layout here on RM Web. It is entirely DCC controlled.

Otherwise, here's a couple of photos to whet your appetite. Both by Nigel Burkin.

Exclusively revealed here on this forum!

Our 12":foot exhibit this year ( a first for us) and situated in the middle of the ice rink as a focal point will be a Scammell Scarab unit in British railways livery. Photo will appear here soon. It will be interesting to see how it looks in the hall and what our visitors think of it. We were also offered a locomotive - maybe another year! May be tricky getting a loco into the hall afterall....

Slight change of Layout and scale from Greenock. Due to late running work on Lammermuir, Brians' OO scale layout Kilbowie(Railway Modeller April 2016) will be attending in its place.

Lammermuir can come next year of course!

Yes only 21 sleeps to go.

Been a bit quiet recently on RMWEB whilst waiting for the internet to be reconnected, am now live again.

As always am looking forward to it, am hoping to persuade all 18 Drax biomass wagons to make an appearance and even hoping that they will go round the layout without too many derailments!

The layout has been checked over today and is ready to accept the biomass train if it appears!

I confess that a green Sulzer Type 2 diesel was used to test all the track sections today but will look forward to seeing the modern stuff running at the exhibition.
