DOCJACOB
A few for today in-between the fish van and leaf busting. Must be about the last shots taken prior to a prolonged break due to illness. Never came back with the same photographic keenness I'm afraid All taken 8/92 37.884 Brocklesby with empty steel working ex Grimsby Unidentified 37 on ELF tankers at Brocklesby heading back to Immingham Suggits Lane Crossing near Cleethorpes with 153 and 158 workings By now the Manchester Airport workings were exclusively 158 hauled so the presence of a 31 on the woking (the dreadful image at Grimsby) is included for curiosity and extreme rarity at that time.
DOCJACOB
Refreshed after a bath. Totally filthy from grinding paint off the fish van today. A couple of images of a 37 sub class I don't remember seeing that regularly 37.707/37.708 at Brocklesby heading away from Immingham 11/89 37.706/37.707 heading into Immingham 2/92

DOCJACOB
A few winter ones and of a class that was fairly common in the area at the time. Images taken 2/92 at Brocklesby 31.319 and 31.199 double heading a short tank train 31.563 and 31.531 towing 47.327 not 100% sure what the load is though Finally probably caught a Monday Departmental working back to Immingham. Quite colourful with 4 livery variations. 31.215 and 31.296 and 31.511 (I think) and 37.058

DOCJACOB
Some much later images this time. I went much less frequently to Brocklesby, partly due to work commitments and also the platform was now off-limits I think these are from circa 2013 as substantial remodelling to the track layout had occurred 2 Class 60's on ore workings I think the only time ever I got full and empty workings in the same shot. 60.014 heading to Scunthorpe. 60.006 Scunthorpe Ironmaster on a long oil train Unidentified 56 on coal hoppers
DOCJACOB
missed a couple form a bit earlier At least we have better I/D this time Both taken 22/7/96 56.044 on pipe working can't remember if headed to Grimsby or Immingham 60.028 on oil working
DOCJACOB
Bit of rural tranquility now. From Ulceby the line diverges, one to Immingham and the other to Barton (there was a further connecting line via Killingholme that formed a triangle many moons ago) A ground signal and a hint of the extensive track layout that once existed around Barrow Road Crossing. Oxmarsh Crossing signal box, a rather utilitarian type. Finally a couple of views at Goxhill a) the GCR type box and b) 144.002 on duty Currently its usually 153's on a shuttle from Cleethorpes. And thanks to bazjones for the wagon I/D Edited November 23, 2016 by DOCJACOB
DOCJACOB
Pretty sure this will be one short afternoon at Brocklesby. I say that as we have 2 images of 60.028 and guess by the ambient light this is start and end of the picture taking session. The back of the pictures all say 6/11/90 but looking at the vegetation I have some serious doubts. For the records: 60.028 empty ore 47.600 St David oil ex Immingham 60.028 full ore 47.301 with some container type traffic heading for Immingham 47.361 Wilton Endeavour hauling 37.225 37.420 Scottish Hosteller on empty oil Edited November 24, 2016 by DOCJACOB
Fat Controller
The containers behind 47301 are 'Seawheel' ones, carrying steel coil. This has been shipped to/from Immingham, Seaforth and Felixstowe at different times, from various plants that had been part of British Steel's Special Steels Division.
DOCJACOB
Thank you for the latest wagon I/D. From the date on the back of the images appears spent a few different days in 2/90 at Brocklesby Also appears I actually recorded the locomotives more logically! 47.374 (Blackcap) 47.332 and 31.485 on oil ex Immingham 47.118 (Lapwing) light loco 31.201 and 31.243 heading to Immingham 47.295 cargo-wagons (usually fertiliser when loaded?) 47.223 oil tankers ex Immingham 47.351 with some empty container flats (I think) 56.088 coal hoppers heading into Immingham 31.208 light loco 37.004 light loco 37.042 steel billets heading towards Grimsby 47.223 again oil ex Immingham 31.299 and 31.210 oil ex Immingham
DOCJACOB
For bazjones a few from the bottom of the box. West Marsh sidings a hive of activity on 15/1/90 08.665 with some work to do in background 1 tank, 1 coil wagon, a number of bolster types. 37.227 busying herself with some steel billets Edited November 26, 2016 by DOCJACOB

Seeing the Total TTA tank wagon reminds me that i read somewhere that the class 08 tripped these to Cleethorpes from West Marsh sidings, also HEA coal wagons to Grimsby coal depot regards Baz
DOCJACOB
A change of venue for tonight I selection taken on 31/8/90 according to the notes on the back of the images. The 56 was stuck near Melton Ross and the passenger working into the platform was unusual as most of the passenger workings were main line rather than relief. For the record 56.087 in disgrace 47.209 Herbert Austin 31.286 on short tank working 47.085 Conidae light 150.111 on Newark service Currently this site has changed beyond recognition Edited December 1, 2016 by DOCJACOB
Classsix T
A change of venue for tonight I selection taken on 31/8/90 according to the notes on the back of the images. The 56 was stuck near Melton Ross and the passenger working into the platform was unusual as most of the passenger workings were main line rather than relief. For the record 56.087 in disgrace. DOCJACOB
Probably was start/end of film I guess, other than that traipsing across a muddy field for the definitive image! Now the 20's were a bit of a favourite of mine and we have a further selection taken at Brocklesby 20.069 and 20.127 steel billets heading towards Grimsby 11/90 20.046 and 20.112 heading into Grimsby with steel billets taken from just under the road over bridge. Not a place I frequented often, taken 9/90 20.112 and 20.046 heading out from Grimsby 8/90 20.096 and a n other at Brocklesby on unrecorded date. ForestPines
thank you for posting the above pictures , all good inspiration for when i come to build the Great Coates layout,. Seeing the Total TTA tank wagon reminds me that i read somewhere that the class 08 tripped these to Cleethorpes from West Marsh sidings, also HEA coal wagons to Grimsby coal depot regards Baz I do recall seeing the oil tank trip to Cleethorpes passing through Town station once - but with a 37, not an 08. DOCJACOB
Few more. Firstly there used to be 08 pilot at Grimsby station so trip work to Cleethorpes would be possible but not the fastest ever journey. Class 37 makes a more sense as they were the ones I usually saw at West Marsh (along with pairs of 20's) Firstly another image of 56.087 in disgrace at Melton Ross 11/90 and yes the image still has issues Then 3 randoms from the bottom of the box again: Mostly no idea of number or date but would hazard guess all from around 2/92 on the basis of my work pattern then? 47 with some wagons 2 31's with 31.302 leading 2 37's on oil tanks and I would guess this is should usually be 2x 31 working
DOCJACOB
A few more from the 90's and at least I've recorded the numbers etc for most. All taken at my usual haunt. 56.085 Haworth Colliery 2/3/90 37.377/37.275 (Stainless Steel Pioneer) on ore to Scunthorpe 2/3/90 31.209/31.319 oil ex Immingham 2/3/90 47.374 empty oil 2/3/90 31.541 towing 56.068 16/11/90 60.019 Wild Boar Fell empty ore 16/11/90 31.233 oil working ex Immingham 16/11/90 31.243/31.210 oil working ex Immingham 16/11/90 Finally its that Friday feeling when 5 go past for engineering work at the W/E. At least 4x 31 in the consist but no idea of identites or date
DOCJACOB
Some from different vantage points this time. Firstly Brocklesby station. In the dim and distant past there was a relief line infront of the concrete steps too I'm informed. Thus access from the old car park was across a working line! There was an earlier question regarding trip working to Cleethorpes of 1 fuel wagon. I found two images of 47.222 Appleby-Frodingham on this specific duty in 8/90 Finally I did spread my wings and we have Roxton Sidings on the back road from Keelby to Immingham A single image of 47.380 on engineers train at Grimsby Docks station
ForestPines
The down slow line (I'm not sure of its exact designation) past the door of the building at Brocklesby was taken out at some point in the 1960s, I think. Just as the up slow round the back of the platform only connected to the up Ulceby, the down slow round the back of the building could only be used by trains coming from Habrough/Grimsby, which I assume explains why it was removed relatively early compared to the rest of the layout. DOCJACOB
Different venue to start with today. There are 2 sets of 3 images The darker ones probably represent an unofficial bunk onto the shed and is undated. The second is likely more official and from 17/11/89. I think I managed a third official visit to see a Peak in the scrap line but am 100% unable to find the rather important images. From the first dark 3 images 37.408 Loch Rannoch is a long way from home next from 17/11/89 we have; 31.273 on load bank testing with re-railing train at side of image and one of the fish vans I'm working on! Storage line 1 with 47.299, 47.202, 31.49, 31.444, 31.243 and 20.068 + coaling cenotaph creeping into shot Storage line 208.543, 08.478 and 20.089
