Oh great. Yes, of course we can use the field for car parking, but the funfair will be there the previous weekend so if it rains it might get a bit muddy.

Anyone care to lend me a tractor?

Geoff Endacott

A bit too far away for us to bring a tractor. But happy to pull out a few with the 4x4.

I went last year and it was a good show. But parking was an issue even on the Sunday afternoon. Perhaps I'd better keep an eye on the weather forecast for this year, but then it will be April.

The 'bus connection from Chippenham station was pretty good so maybe you could park there (not sure how busy it gets tho'  but there are 600+ spaces, cost appears to be £7.10 daily rate but might be less for shorter periods)

The weekend daily rate at Chippenham Station is £4.30. However, the public car park opposite Chippenham Station is free of charge on Sundays.

I will be investigating the adjacent Corsham School which has some hard standing available, possibly at a lower cost to us than the £380 which the council want for using their muddy field.

We will update the website in due course.

As I have mentioned elsewhere, YouTube can be very useful when I am booking layouts for Trainwest as it enables me to see how they are operated in exhibition conditions. Put simply, if it isn't operated properly, I don't book it.

Of course, it also helps me to compile a preview of each exhibition. Here is the Trainwest 2017 collection:

Looking forward to joining in the fun on Kinlet Wharf, just doing some maintenance and finishing touches to my shortest and longest modern image N Gauge trains....

One Class 139 and a full Northern Belle set, have been having some fun with Electra vinyls!

We now have an online booking facility here: http://purchase.tickets.com/buy/TicketPurchase?agency=POUN&organ_val=38889&event_val=2722&schedule=list .

Advance tickets are £6 compared to £8 at the door. There is a booking fee of 95p per order (to the agents, not us) but it still works out cheaper than paying at the door. If you book online you can then print off your own tickets, or display them on a smartphone. (I don't know how many people do so, but we are about to find out.)

That was supposed to be a secret.

Geoff is working very hard here (mostly on his own) to keep the thread active and Current in the run up to the show.

Can we help him out?

are you coming to the event, have you been before, do you bring your own sandwiches, is there a burger van nearby and what about the road works. that kind of stuff. Maybe your coming for just one favourite layout or that special traders, maybe it's just the lemon drizzle cake? come on it's a forum, let's exchange some thoughts.

Black Country Blues will be there, I'm starting to clear a path through the garage, we would love to see you and have chat. Pop by and say hi.

Family circumstances mean that I'm in the area at the weekend, so, after a gap of nearly 20 years, I'm hoping to visit!

Hoping to get the freebie bus from Chippenham station.....

Although I've seen some of the layouts, sometimes you notice different things to the last time you saw the layout.
