Fuel tank spill AN ex-Euro spec 66751, showing the twin air pipes and different headlights/buffers compared to the Uk spec locos. One of the Lickey banker locos, fitted with an air cylinder that can remotely uncouple the buckeye from the cab. Cheers, Mick
cal.n
Today have just got Oxfords Road-Rail landrovers from Hatton and am chopping up and adding wheels to a 130 crew cab pickup to make this (which will be motorised and DCC). Until recently, this was the only image I had of my prototype. But a big lens from a hill near Fort William depot got me this, which has been invaluable. Never underestimate the importance of reference pics and if available, get as many as you can.

RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted October 31, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted October 31, 2017 (edited) From the guide to protecting your station from pigeons! Cover the lighting in plastic spikes and leave the ornate clock to fend for itself. It actually looks pretty clean. (Edit Given that it was taken at 14:57, both faces show the wrong times!) RMweb Premium petethemole Posted October 31, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 31, 2017 Buddleia thriving on the platform edge at a busy mainline station, Eastleigh, July 2014. (Observer of layout, "actually I think you'll find that it would never be allowed to grow like that".) It had gone soon after. Three different methods of point operation together, also at EH.

Liam
BR Standard 2-6-0 76090 on Beattock Shed not long before closure in the mid 1960's. Detail of its well lubricated valve gear. Second shot of the same locomotive in the yard. Did you take those photos yourself? My grandfather was area inspector for the area of the WCML around Beattock around that time, and he lived in the station house with his wife (my grandmother) and children. My dad regularly enjoyed rides on the banking engines up to the summit; nothing like that would probably be allowed these days!

ardbealach
Yes took the pictures myself. I recall this visit to Beattock Shed with a railway enthusiast friend who had a contact there. Who knows maybe our paths crossed with your relative. I don't have any names apart from the friend I went with. And yes we were privileged to get a footplate trip up Beattock Bank with the banker and back light to the shed. Agreed something which would certainly not happen today. Attached are a few more of Beattock which might be of interest. The picture of Beattock South box with the line of bankers and the Cl;ass 40 was taken a few years earlier. Hope I am not going off topic.....
RMweb Gold Metr0Land Posted November 1, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 1, 2017 We seem to have stalled. How about film/TV related? eg locos/stock/locations that have appeared on the screen and a reference (if needed) to the film/tv show. Liam
Tornado, seen here at Kidderminster during Warley weekend last year. "What film has Tornado been in?" I hear you say. Well it's in a film that's about to be released, the loco 'stars' in Paddington 2 which is released in cinemas a week on Friday. Quite why the chap on the footplate is eating an apple instead of a marmalade sandwich I've got no idea!
