wollastonblue
Southern with GWR Coaches do? Well we've done LMS, LNER, and Southern so lets go GWR.
Liam
*cough* GWR 45xx no. 4566 simmers at the buffers at Kidderminster, October 2016. Now how about another GWR loco but away from GWR territory? e.g. A Castle on the WCML.
RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted November 8, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 8, 2017 (edited) I thought we were looking for something in GWR livery, so I'll put up two GWR locos off-piste and one of them is in GWR livery. For a follow up, does anyone have a picture containing a loco from each of the Big Four? Bonus mark if it also has a Standard, Industrial, Diesel of Electric included. Bonus mark if it also has a Standard, Industrial, Diesel of Electric included. I think that only describes one place. Somthing blue, fast and LNER. Somthing red, fast and LMS. Somthing ugly, black and Southern and two green western things. Next, an 'Old and New' pic

eastwestdivide
So probably Tornado then. Here it is, appropriately for the time of year behind some poppies, with an East Coast electric heading the other way, at Botany Bay Crossing near Retford: next, an electric train built before 1960 please Edited November 9, 2017 by eastwestdivide

RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted November 9, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 9, 2017 (edited) From my stuff to hand I suppose it will have to be this or the Flying Banana. LMS 7050, built 1934. Let's follow up with something electric, loco or EMU, which is pre 1934. Edit Just noticed I have already included one behind 7020. That's excluded from the next picture. EddieB
An electric railcar built by Ringhoffer in 1904. Restored and running on the 1500V DC Tabor - Bechyne section in the Czech Republic. Next, a steam loco built before the reign of Queen Victoria (pre-1837, not a replica). Zomboid
There's at least one suitable loco in the science museum. And is the John Bull in the Smithsonian old enough? Not sure about that one. Edit - John Bull dates from 1831, so would qualify. It's really badly displayed over there at the moment. Though I did just read that it last steamed in 1981 to celebrate its 150th anniversary. Edited November 9, 2017 by Zomboid

There are a few preserved "Standards" from 1953 as well as an Ivatt 2MT and possibly an 08(?) I can't find a preserved loco from any of the other companies from 1953 Of course plenty were made so earlier photos will be around. keith
RMweb Gold phil_sutters Posted November 10, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 10, 2017 I am not sure whether I have used this one in thread or not - if you can remember which post, then you can have a go at 1953 - if not try 1954!
