RMweb Premium newbryford Posted February 23, 2018 RMweb Premium Share Posted February 23, 2018 Time for O. (I really must stop this waiting around until the witching hour has passed to post a photo - but then again, it means I get one in without forgetting to do it later) O for Ollantaytambo in Peru. In March 2015, metre gauge Alco 481 gets ready to follow the Urubamba River downstream for about two hours to Aguas Calientes for Machu Picchu. eastwestdivide
Two O's to avoid... O is for Overloaded, although by all accounts 1.5 ton wasn't the worst you could overload a 16T mineral: and O is for Octel antiknock compound (UN number 1649 on the hazard panel), aka tetraethyl lead or the lead that used to be in your petrol, then in the atmosphere and in your bloodstream:

eastwestdivide
O is also for Overhead lines: I was wandering round north of Doncaster in the Joan Croft area, and had passed a place called Tilts, so what else could I do but tilt the camera.

There is (or was) a roundtrip Zurich-Bern vv M-F operated by Securitas, seen here at Olten 09Jun11. As you can see the driver realised that I knew what I was filming. ps this might be the only train on SBB where no railcards of any kind are accepted Edited February 24, 2018 by Metr0Land
