Wiring work is progressing at a pace and now well over 25% of the layout is fully finished for DCC operation.

Dave is doing scenic work ageing the now mostly redundant platform. - picture shows the almost finished platform end just awaiting a dulling down.

Hello,

So whilst Dave is working wonders on the greenery I have been working on board 10 and its now re-wired for DCC.

This board has two functions, not only is it the start of the fiddle yard but it is also going to be the location of the repair bench and test track.

We are trying to keep the required space at an exhibition to a minimum and with the possibility of 6+ people in the central operating area having a table in there could possibly cause problems so a work area at one end was the solution and it stops it getting cover in bits at a show.

So once this ones back in the storage facility then it will be on to the front, which is currently being planned wring wise.

Was it the Earthquake that did it?

Hi Andy, certainly something brought it down during the night. We're a fair way from the epicentre but it's a plausible explanation!

We were hoping that the layout would 'make the earth move' for spectators but not necessarily in this fashion!

-More likely Simons sound fitted class 50!!!!

Dave has been working on the station boards and has just forwarded this pic of both boards together-

45 128 (Centaur) heads south with a Poole bound passenger train as 56 013 heads a northbound MGR service.

What an excellent layout, loving 45128, always liked that Tinsley Peak.

Great work. I am looking forward to seeing more photos!

With DCC update well underway focus has also had to be aimed at stock issues- Dave's initial research has focused on ETH stock and the following train movements that would/may have still used the Great Central are to be tackled first-

1O19 08.05 Newcastle - Poole Booked for ETH 45 or 47

1086 14.00 Leeds/Hull - Brighton Booked ETH 45 or 47

1E45 06.50 Paddington - Leeds/Hull Booked for any ETH loco and noted with 31,45,47 & 50

1E63 09.40 Poole- Newcastle Booked ETH 45 or 47
