One of the 313’s stabled at Hove, presumably awaiting disposal.

Cheers

Warm store actually.

Of the sixteen still going, only nine are required on a weekday, seven on a Saturday and four on a Sunday.

With three car 377/3's appearing in increasing numbers at Lovers Walk there simply isn't enough space so one or two are routinely cycled through warm store in Hove Yard, swapped for one or two others after about a week or so.

If anyone wants to see the infamous blue one, it seems to be ring-fenced on the Seafords at the moment.

Class 442 5-WES EMU 2413 at Eastleigh on 26/07/02 (my photo)

I think that was the day that I had an 'encounter' with a rubbish bin in a car park at EH as a result of ending up working a late then a night shift and the person in charge never thought to do anything about the fact that I didn't have a trained nurse to whom I could leave the keys with after the night shift ones went sick.

It was still a good trip involving a well known modeller and railway writer walking into his closed patio doors whilst we were there having a BBQ...

The small fleet of four car dual voltage 377/2s have been notable in appearing a lot along the Sussex Coast in the last few weeks.  In the May timetable change, they are going back onto the West London Line services, displacing the five car 377/7's back to Metro work.

Southern Class 377/2 377204 Barnham 22/4/23

As an aside, for those interested in the 313 farewell tour next Saturday, 313201 and 313208 have moved to Hove Yard for storage prior to being prepped for the tour (don't know if a reserve 313 is being prepared, probably be a good idea given the blue one's infamous reliability) .

Apparently 313201 have just enough miles for the tour and then is likely to head to Eastleigh for scrap not long after.

The WLL services have been 4-car 377/2s for over a year now.  The 5-car units are in a common pool working either singly or paired most often on Dorking / Horsham services but inter-working around the Metro network as diagrams require.  They have not been used on the WLL at all; I understand the turnback facility at Watford Junction is limited to 4-car trains.

I am not sure which of these snaps have appeared above, but there have been a number of liveries for the 319s.

Same job for four days on the bounce produced three different 313's for the 19:55 2S34 Littlehampton to Southsea all sheds and back:

Monday and Wednesday 313212:

Southern Class 313/2 313212 Littlehampton 24/4/23

Tuesday 313203:

Southern Class 313/2 313203 Littlehampton 25/4/23

And finally tonight (Thursday) 313215:

Southern Class 313/2 313215 Littlehampton 27/4/23

Note 215's livery variation...

Excellent weather for the Cl.313 farewell tour today, here it is passing Lake Lane crossing, West of Ford, on the Bognor-Littlehampton leg:

A nice surprise to see several other units in operation as well, so I hung around the Ford area to get a few more photos.

Away from the tour, the usual allocation of four units on the Southsea/Littlehampton/Bognor circuits were still plying their trade as they will until the 20th of May.  213 was a substitution for 208 on the tour, apparently duff and I expect it has run its last as has 201 which is now effectively out of miles and will be on a one way trip to Eastleigh and the gas axe at some point.

After yesterdays excitement (I kept well away from it though, something about the mob mentality of the new young generation of trend following enthusiasts that doesn't sit right with me) the Coastway West has just 313204 in action, the Sunday staple, the hourly Bognor/Littlehampton shuttle:

Southern Class 313/2 313204 Barnham 30/4/23

She may look tatty but 204 is probably one of the best ones to drive of those that remain, a bit like the Millennium Falcon of EMU's...
