I shall grab some pictures and hopefully a little video footage. Quality won't be great as I only have my phone available, but hopefully others will grab some images also

Have a grand day, everybody - please post lots of photos - uz that can't make it get great pleasure from seeing them!  :danced:

Attended this morning and really enjoyed the show. My first TVNAM. Good venue and actually straightforward enough by public transport- really appreciated the O gauge and made some purchases from Jason. Few shots attached, of some of the O gauge layouts.

Jason is my new best friend.

I walked away with so much O scale parts that otherwise I'd never have seen.

He's pretty much singlehandedly turned a box of train show junk into a full freight car fleet for my layout.

Here's to next year!

Nick, if Piedmont Blues isn't ready by then, would you be interested in an N scale waterfront layout attending? :)

Nick, those are awesome shots. Great job!

Tim, great way to make sure they sleep. Wear em down. It's one of the reasons that I like to take my 2 year old daughter to the playground. No fight at bedtime.

Guys, great layouts! The only thing that might be better than seeing and operating the layouts is hanging out with you fine fellows.

Well, it's all over for another year.

Thanks once again to everybody involved - the exhibitors, traders, helpers and visitors. The feedback has been positive however, the numbers through the door were a bit worrying. Last year was down on 2015 and yesterday was quite a bit down on last year. OK, we were competing with the weather but my experience as an exhibitor at other shows this year has been much the same. Maybe it's a symptom of the state of the hobby.

Anyway, here are some pictures from yesterday (in no particular order):

I had no idea the Selah (Fruit Row) was so small - it always looks much bigger in photos!

That's because it was....this one is 26" x11" and uses the buildings from the larger layout that you saw at Glasgow in 2007. It is just big enough to give some operational interest.

Thank heavens for that, Andy - I knew that I'd seen it at Glasgow and really thought my mind was playing up! When you are getting older, it is things like that that make you start worrying!  :O

I'm nominating Selah Friut Row as winner of that cameo layout competition. It's all you need, really isn't it? It's a layout I was unaware existed and I didn't get to Armitage, so seeing a picture of that makes me know I missed something.

Thanks for all the pics - all that O Scale, what a year to miss TVNAM..

Only caught some glimpses of trains here so far, some CSX geeps tied up, but doing some proper railfanning later during the week

Thanks, but I see it as more of a Micro than a Cameo, and was basically built to showcase the Fruit Row buildings from my old layout for display at a Museum in the US. It makes my other YVT layout seem quite big, even though that one is only 6' long.

I think you're right Nick as there is definitely less interest in US modelling and the clash with the Great Central event probably didn't help, although a couple of visitors did say they chose to go to TVNAM over the other show.

Is there a date for 2018 yet, or will there have to be radical changes if the event isn't covering its costs...?

The GCR event sucks up a lot of traders and exhibitors. However does not tend to have a lot of US layouts or interest as such. However is an example of how crowded the exhibition calendar has become - when as reported numbers are generally down at the doors.

No date for next year yet. A possible change to later in the year then we don't compete with the weather. Also a possible change in the format - not sure yet.

As for clashing with GC - no matter what date you choose there wil always be something else even if it's only Auntie Mary's birthday!
