Personally, I would have gone for the two bob Airfix kit, the underframe detail is better, and with the application of Masokits/RT Models improvements, scrubs up quite well IMHO.

Mike.

Yeah, but the one Damian found is in the correct livery.

Here you go, here’s the first one;

This is a dead easy P4 conversion - I just changed the wheelsets on mine. No form of compensation, even with the 12'0" WB - it ran fine round my circuit and I wouldn't claim my track is any better than "reasonable".

All 3 visible numbers are different sizes!

Yes, a right lash up.

I kind of like those ‘bodge it and scarper’ times -  a bit like the 27 that had its middle window blanked out and painted yellow.

Money was tight...

Thought so, minefield

Does anyone produce a VCA?

A company called A1 Models used to do etched VCA sides to convert the Hornby VDA, that is the only one I can think of.

Fairly sure I have a set of those sides somewhere, must try to find them at some point.  I'd use a Bachmann VAA as the base rather than a Hornby VDA these days though.

Top man!

You may just have saved me from googling “A1 models” ...

Bad news, the one I have is for VAA/VBA sides so isn't much use:

Random question, prompted by something else I found while looking for that; were there any retailing equipment/tool vans based at Inverness during your time period?
