Have been working on an area near the back of the yard. There was a Metcalf mill there, but I wanted something more bespoke. Its a transition area between the harbour area and an industrial part so I thought to 1980 houses might go well there. Here is some of the pictures so far. The houses are scratchbuilt with Muswell brass windows.

There area behind is a swine to get to though, so the hole may be difficult to hide.

The houses constructed.

The windows cut glazed and ready to go in.

Surely but slowly - the layout illuminations are comijng to life. Groups of bus bars are provided along the underside of the boards for the tails from the lamps to congregate. This is a tiresome excersize, but essential to keep the wiring in some sort of order amongst the isolater, point motor and colour lights leads.

Here are Sandy Hill stations and the shed lights in progress.

50003 is fettled for the Sleepers , whilst the 31 behind is for the Bristol vans

Have been looking around the Cornish harbours lately and been inspired by the many timber cladded harbour buildings. I thought I'd have a go at a factory to go into the industrial estate.

Here is the result, a two tier building with a brick base and fire escape from the upper floor.

The windows are measured and cut into the ribbed plasticard (make sure it is the right way up!)

The main structure is constructed with the brick base and other plasticard struts attached.

Once complete, the whole building is sprayed with tan textured Plastikote.

The building is painted with acrylics. The brickwork is lightly dry brushed to keep the brickwork.

Wills windows added and glazed

The almost finished building with the frie escape added. Just waiting for Ten Commandment air con units .

More lighting fun has seen the harbour illuminated at last. Thsi includes a faller festoon of fairy lights which have reflected rather well in the harbour water.

There are some areas where the light escapes under the buildings, and these will be resolved in the coming days.

Some pictures taken recently, no real updates just for the heck of it!

Two class 108s on the BB branch during the morning peak. The Postal has been backed into the carriage sidings on top.

The layout and one of two class 50 departures and hour ready to depart with the xx.40 to Oxford this is 6 NSE coaches. The xx.10 is to Paddington 6 air cons in the classic first class at the Padd end, buffet and seconds on the rear.

The loco off the inward Oxford usually makes the following hours Padd loco and vice versa. Though sometimes an A exam is required and a Class 47 intervenes, just the makes the basher's day worthwhile. Depends what mood I'm in :beee:

This day the system must have gone slightly awry!

Decided to add some new flows to the layout, timber from Mount Charles yard and a bi-hourly Manchester service with air cons as I have so many ETS class 47s stood spare!

The first Manchester departure was a deputation of Class 37/4s as 47593 developed an AWS fault and returned to shed!

A couple of hours of running was captured for posterity the other evening. How many of them would have been winners for you?
