RMweb Premium 2ManySpams Posted September 11, 2017 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 11, 2017 Yes, it was fairly late Sunday afternoon, if you look carefully you can see my other half waving... Found you by first spotting the layout with all the gaffa tape. Are you sure she's waving?

DerekEm8
Well It's all over now (says he foolishly) my stint as expoEM Autumn/North exhibition manager (loud cheers from the crowd) I would like to thank all those who contributed to expoEM North/Autumn this year. By that I mean the traders, layout owners, line societies, demonstrators, stewards and of course those who paid to see what was (NOT my words) 'Best selection of layouts I have seen at ANY exhibition I've been to. Even said by *4 members as well !' The winners of the awards were:- Best Layout Portchullin Mark Tatlow Malcolm Crawley Cup GWR Metro Tank Steve Lee Eileens Emporium Award Black Lion Hotel Geoff Kent There were quite a number of RM web members exhibiting/demonstrating and visiting but only one visitor managed to say hello - and I alredy knew him I am quite amenable to a good natter. Once again thank you Edited September 11, 2017 by DerekEm8
Portchullin Tatty
Thank you Derek for inviting the layout; we had a good time and are pleased to say we were not compelled to take quite such a scenic route home as we did on the way to the show! For those who wish to see a slightly less reverent take on what it is like to go on tour to a show with the reprobates that assist with Portchullin you can take a look at OTCM's blog here.
Kelly
Unfortunately ended up having to give it a miss due to my car developing a cracked sump. Hope it was another great show, hopefully make it next year.

And following your link led me to this https://highlandmiscellany.com/category/buckingham-central/ Which is well worth a mention due to it's links with members of the EMGS. Next year is going to be a challenge to top this year I think, looking forward already. First time I have seen shunts on Portchullin too this weekend, that 20 needs some weathering though, too ex-works to be that far north.

There are a number of blog posts on Buckingham as I have been lucky enough to blag a couple of visits.......!! Here is the full selection (which are probably best read in the order listed): https://highlandmiscellany.com/2016/01/10/buckingham-central/ https://highlandmiscellany.com/2016/01/24/buckingham-central-plan/ https://highlandmiscellany.com/2016/12/28/a-return-ticket-to-buckingham-part-1-a-running-day/ https://highlandmiscellany.com/2017/01/02/a-return-ticket-to-buckingham-part-2-peter-dennys-modelling/ https://highlandmiscellany.com/2017/01/23/a-return-ticket-to-buckingham-part-3-the-automatic-crispin/ Also, if you are interested in the automatic crispen, look at the comments section as Peter's children talk about it. Enjoy and if anyone likes the blog and wishes to follow it, you can enter your email into the box on the left near the top and you will get automatic updates each time I post something - simples!! woodenhead
Very interesting to read about Buckingham - when you look at Clarendon you can see where they got inspiration, I am guessing the timekeeping buttons that everyone appears attached too is a more modern interpretation of Peter Denny's clock.
