royaloak Posted February 16, 2018 Share Posted February 16, 2018 There is a picture of it passing Reading depot in 1971. Blue livery, 1st coach looks like Mk2 BCK, heading towards Paddington. As built, there were no Mark 2 composites of any description, although some corridor firsts were converted to composite later. As for brakes, there were as built brake firsts for Mark 2, 2a, 2b, 2c and 2d and brake second opens for all variants except Mark 2b. I also have it logged on 23 8 72,while on a "Merrymaker" from Ealing Broadway to Barry Island and return,and referring to some of the previous posts,it may well have moved to South Wales by then. I never saw it work Iron Ore, and have yet to see any photos of it so employed. . It was used almost (but not exclusively) always on Ebbw's "E61" diagram, which worked off ADJ serving the numerous industries and private sidings along the Uskmouth Branch such as Stewarts & Lloyds, Orb Works, Monsanto, British Aluminium etc. . It's diagram did, if required, take it 02:25 ADJ - Spencer Works then 04:00 Spencer Works - ADJ, engine and van. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
