This might be worth a read, some of which is still used today including BYRAG http://www.railwaycodes.org.uk/misc/telegraph.shtm Cheers Al, I'll study that later when I want to send myself to sleep, haha 1

I am in the awkward position where I started on the railway not long after privatisation (though had a pretty good appreciation of BR from mine and my Dad's interests) where by I have worked with a lot of ex BR staff who are still in the industry and many people who know nothing of BR or its ways! 1

RMweb Gold 5BarVT Posted May 2, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 2, 2020 I always liked the use of the code CAPE (cancelled) and how it was used for passenger advice on chalk boards. Fortunately I knew what it meant! e.g. 1325 to Paddington CAPED FURNO. Paul. 1

RMweb Gold PeterBB Posted May 2, 2020 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 2, 2020 (edited) Enjoyed working West Shed using the cards. For some reason I have to reset my PW every time on the web but apart from the odd comment on this particular blog it does not accept any on e.g. ER and definitely doesn't accept any comment. It appears that I can still read (will try in a second) but after a short time it cuts out. Have PM'd Andy Y with that information and one other aspect but now wonder if that actually 'went'. Apologies for using one that 'works'. *Have been able to read and comment on ER - hope it stays that way. Cheers, Peter BB Edited May 2, 2020 by PeterBB *Success on ER

Cheers, Peter BB Cheers Peter, Yes West Shed was simple, (bit like it's builder really), but very effective and easy to exhibit as it was just one board and two trestles, plus some Locos. Andrew P
So for todays Blast from the Past we look at what became of Pencarne Junction. After being disenchanted with some very minor aspects of Pencarne Junction that I really should have sorted out, I ripped up about half of it and turned it into a BLT, and re named it simply Pencarne.

No not the campers. In the photos there is a brown Morris Minor Traveller, the rust bucket you sold to my mate was green. Mind you I don't think it would have got to Pencarne without breaking down.

Andrew P
Todays Blast from the Past is again 2016 and features Porth Merryn, again built on a single board. It was sold to a Family down on the South Coast and is now Exhibited on a fairly regular basis, so I might be seeing it again, once Exhibitions start to re open next year.
