The Class 25 would work with Dapol 16T Minerals but only just at 8ft.

I would guess at about 12 to 15ft min for decent Wagons and more for coaching Stock. if you want to run coaches behind a 47, and all assuming your using Peco Track. 

 

I dont think you have contradicted me at all.  Having got a 47 to go round the 4ft curve you would have needed to adjust the couplings  on the loco and the stock which is the sort of thing I meant by a tweak.
