34theletterbetweenB&D
Arnold Schoenberg: pieces he composed while exiled in the USA. Compelled by the musical illiteracy of the Unitedstatesians to compose in conventional tonality, rather than his preferred twelve tone noodlings, a rather enjoyable result was obtained. He of course thought this material 'unimportant and of little merit'. But to Philistines like myself who are so crass as to actually enjoy music principally for the sound it makes, it's good stuff. surfsup
The brilliant but less well known over here Claire. A great feature of Claire's song writing is that the lyrics when you look at them are quite melancholy but the tune is a great set up to those nice long summer days with friends.
