montyburns56
I was watching a Youtube video about the BT mascot Buzby and it showed all the merchandise, publicity material etc, but the author also mentioned the Buzby Special train. It seems to have been made to promote and showcase BT technology and used one of the Exhibition trains in a special Buzby livery. Does anyone actually remember seeing, visiting, photographing it or has it ever been modelled does anyone know? I've only found one picture of it at Chester in 1978 and that doesn't really show it that clearly. https://www.2d53.co.uk/chester/Specials.htm And this picture of a pamphlet about it. http://www.lightstraw.co.uk/ate/tao/sales/buzby/special1.html

jonhall
A lot of the plywood fittings from inside the train ended up with Hampton Court MRS - I think we still have a set of layout carrying end-plates from that material! Jon

AMJ
Back in 85 I had a holiday in Cornwall and had a week on a Cornish rover doing all of the branches. Got to Liskeard to find that the unit was parked up and replaced by a P***r as it had a broken window. Think I scanned a neg from the trip. I think that's the BT liveried DMU which is a different train to the one that I was asking about.

No idea but it's clearly Cardiff and looks nothing like Cambridge looked at the time. There's even a little bit of what looks to me like the rear of the offside of an HST power car visible on the left.
RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted August 10, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 10, 2023 I saw the Buzby DMU quite a few times in Devon. A photo of it at Barnstaple on two different days in 1985.

Not sure about spelling Nice one, those should be good enough for anyone who might want to model the train. Perhaps once Electra Rail Graphics gets up and running again. Actually just looking at the other pictures this is a different livery as the other one was yellow and maroon.I have a feeling that these pictures are of a later version of it. The plot thickens..... Right, that explains it then as the other pictures are from the late 70s.
