RMweb Premium Legend Posted March 26, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 26, 2014 The only issue I have with this layout is that we don't see enough of it! Love the time period and mixture of liveries that are possible. Are there any videos of the layout anywhere?

robertcwp
The only issue I have with this layout is that we don't see enough of it! Love the time period and mixture of liveries that are possible. Are there any videos of the layout anywhere? The underlying issue there is that I don't see enough of it either. Work has been busier than ever recently. I need to get some blue/grey stock and blue diesels out and move it on a bit in period. I also had a bit of a problem (again) with water ingress in the shed in the recent wet weather, but fortunately not on the layout. No videos I'm afraid. First class layout and stock, and superb photo's - Really like the Blue Pullman - Look forward to following this. Cheers, Bob. The Blue Pullman has gone back into its box as the period is about to move on. However, another Blue Pullman will be appearing shortly, a grey one this time. danstercivicman
Whats the bar across the buffers for (I assume coupling) and how does it work?
robertcwp
Whats the bar across the buffers for (I assume coupling) and how does it work? I use Sprat & Winkle couplings so there is a brass hook on a coach or wagon which hooks onto the bar. The bars have to be shiny as the hooks slide across them on curves and through points.

robertcwp
A recent second-hand purchase, but looking a bit out of place alongside c1980 stock: P1070427am by Robert Carroll, on Flickr A Swindon cross-country unit, converted from a Lima 117 using the Craftsman kit. It has been done exactly from the kit, so the roof vents are not quite the right shape and there is no vent-axia or similar over the buffet, but I'm not inclined to change either as the standard of the finish is so high.
