Popular Post Ben B
It's a bright summers afternoon at the Breakwater in 1981, and the resident shunter prepares to return with the experimental passenger service to the headland. It's unlikely this trial working will last beyond this season as loadings haven't been terrific, and the 4-wheel carriages will be returned to the preserved line they were borrowed from come the Autumn. In the loop, a train of rocks to replenish the sea defences awaits unloading; this bread-and-butter aspect of the operation still has a few years left to go before the inevitable lorries take over...

SDJR7F88
A short running session featuring the all new LNWR Improved Precedent Class 2-4-0 from Rails of Sheffield edited with real sound. Sounds are provided by a number of similar locomotives from my sound collection, captured at various Gala and Preserved Railways over the past few years. Here we see No.5036 'Novelty' in elegant LMS Crimson Lake livery in action, hauling a short rake of Parkside Midland Clerestory coaches. Hope you enjoy! 11
Popular Post Ben B
I was going back through some old photographs, and came across this which I'd forgotten about... hopefully giving the atmosphere of a surface line at a colliery, or maybe a brickworks line, though the loco is a bit heavier duty than the expected Lister or Simplex... I built a portable photoplank for my garden railway projects as my own garden doesn't have room for a line, a simple light railway single-track branch to a terminus. The loco is a former Triang 'Big Big' Ruston, re-gauged to G and modified into an open cab loco. It's a bit of a quick and nasty conversion from the contents of the scrapbox, just because I wanted to see how the photoplank would look with slightly smaller industrial stock than my usual Playmobil-based models. It's a bit of a beast, though the driver is a little underscale (it was the only one I had to hand during the lockdown). 20 4
