Thanks - these do look really nice. They have the solid feel of the prototypes.

transfers are tricky - rubdowns can look good, but as you only get one chance, it’s awkward unless you have a clear area to work in, so you can get them lined up just right.

Nick.

Thanks Nick I will grab some more pics next week closer up, I do have these 7mm wagons Im currently working on a bit closer in! The brake is GER, and I can't get GE wagon Transfers for love nor money unless I use Powsides rub on jobbos which aren't ideal with raised details on the wagon sides sadly :(

Those look fantastic, especially the cattle wagon.

How much of that is 3D printed and how much is added afterwards?

Do you make the chassis rigid, or is there some sort of springing / compensation?

Or is it a new body on a commercial chassis?

Great work.

Thank you for the kind words, so all of it is 3d printed besides the wheels and bearings.

I print the roof, the body and the buffers, and solebars all separately, and then just add paint.

The chassis are rigid, and seem all good so far, the real test will be this coming monday when I hope to run a rake of wagons I have built on the club layout, along with my GNR Howldens all being well

Rob,

A couple of photos of your wonderful Howldens at SEGOG this afternoon, one with my C12 before she ‘blew up’ and then with my J6. I’m pleased to report that Rob’s coaches performed perfectly.

Thanks for posting Andy, I thoroughly enjoyed seeing these run at the SEGOG and what a cracking bunch of folks they all are, inspired and looking forward to getting some new stuff printed and built ready to run for the next time thank you!

I also realised I never got round to posting some finished pictures of my set of 7mm GER 4 wheelers I finished up earlier in the year, although I still need to sort the coupling situation on these little coaches, but they are some of my favourite designs, quite charming little coaches! Though I can imagine they weren't much fun to travel in being quite a hard ride in reality.

First class, third class, and third brake below, and once again massive thanks to the talented Mr Ian MacCormac for providing the transfers which really bring these coaches together thanks Ian.

Thought I would challenge myself to a bit of speed modelling to kick 2023 off and knocked up this GCR 27ft Van ready to put through the slicer next and print up to join my slowly growing rake of Pre grouping 7mm wagons.

Modelling time around 3 an half hours in 3ds max, not including the wheels which are just for illustration purposes only!

Very nice, and very speedy. I gave myself a similar challenge with my "Model a 1968 Ford Falcon on Boxing Day" challenge, it blew out to 4 hours into the next day too though. Was pretty over it by the time I got to the wipers so I stole them from another model! (Done in Blender)

Thought I would build a diorama background to display some of my 7mm models, I like the idea of some impressively deep brick cutting walls, like those found in East London. Not especially prototypical more of a mix of brick styles from East London and Crystal Palace to get that Victorian feel.

I plan to print 4 or 5 of these wall sections, and add an overhead or raised signal box for fun with a couple of tracks running in front. Coach is just for scale

Update on the diorama background to display some of the 7mm models I am making on for fun!

Adding in a raised signal box to give a bit of interest to the scene, and sit over the track nearest the retaining walls! Any other suggestions to what might look good most welcome as i'm still planning this out before printing it and assembling!

Cheers
