First coat of frame dirt and muck colour on the roof going to aim for a sun bleached effect on this one. It will be numbered 20055. Trying to add more detail to my hoppers. I am going to put this down for a few days now. Lots of fine tuning needed. It will be numbered soon. And knocked back with my light powder teqnique. The white oil paint didn't really work for me. There's no harm in trying new techniques, that's how we learn new things, and if it works that's fine, but if it doesn't then there's always the one we know to fall back on. I am always on the look out on ebay for another reasonably priced Hornby 08 to muck about with. Two Parkside rebodied I built Two Hornby riveted which I am changing into welded One Hornby riveted And two different styles of weathering. So I am adding the detail where missing and I hope to weather them all so they look similar ish. We shall see how it all turns out. The random looking rake Adding wire and bits of plasti card. The underframe needs more work. The five coal hoppers. Are to the next stage, all the detail is on. Base coats of paint are now on. Still quite a bit to do. Two do not have loads in yet, need to find some also for my 16tonners. I have such good memories of the atmosphere and smells of the railways in the early 80s, I just want to recreate a bit of it in miniature.
