SBB1
Happy New Year! Now that we are into 2023, we should start seeing announcements from manufacturers for the year ahead very soon. What's on your Swiss-themed wishlist? It can be big or small, realistic or far-fetched. I'm interested to know what you're hoping for. Here are my top 3 for N scale: 1. Re 620 in SBB red (Fleischmann) 2. High speed EMU of some description, possibly the RABe 501 Giruno? (Piko? Kato?) 3. Tm 234.2 (Hobbytrain?) cornish trains jez
Happy New Year! Cool topic and be interested to see what everyone else has on their lists! My top 3 N gauge would be: 1: SBB RABe 500 2: SBB RABe 501 Giruno - already available in H0 from Piko (I believe) so they could easily "shrink" it! 3: BLS RABe 528 MIKA Best regards, Jeremy
MOB 2002
Piko have already announced their range, so no Giruno there I’m afraid: https://www.piko-shop.de/en/warengruppe/new-items-2022-428/category_filter-50/l-100/o-artikelnr_asc.html Personally I’d love to see a modern standard Re4/4 IV, Ae4/7 or some new Leichtstahlwagen during 2023 … all of which are probably less likely than the Giruno. Mark Nothing leaps out for me in the Piko range. Maybe Arnold would have a crack at the Giruno, given they've blessed us with the RABe 503. An updated Re 4/4 IV would be great! Not necessarily my favoured era, but I do have a soft spot for them. I saw one pop up on Catawiki not so long ago - obviously an old model now (can't remember who by?) but it still looked the part. I have one in the all over grey livery which is part of a set with three coaches. I’m sure they did the other two liveries as well as I’ve seen them come up now and then on eBay. MOB 2002
Roco did all of the SBB liveries in N I think, I have one in the Bahn 2000 livery … but with its obscured windows it’s hardly what you’d call up to modern standards. With all the advertising liveries post SBB, the fact they’re still in traffic in a variety of liveries today, and the heavily related ex Bodensee Togenberg machines you’d think it might be viable. Gottardo
I would love to see all the models previously wished for and in addition. 1. A better proportioned SBB Re4/4 ll/lll from Fleischmann to better match their recently introduced Re6/6. ( I suppose this would depend on how successful the Re6/6 is) 2. A SOB RABe526 Voralpen/Traverso FLIRT. (Possibly from PIKO who could use it as the basis for other similar variants in use around Europe) 3. An XTmas Fire and Rescue Train (SBB and BLS) although I think this is far too specialised for any of the mainstream manufacturers to consider.

Gordonwis
I have to say I'm not much of a fan of wish lists. It seems remarkable how little input into what models are produced us ordinary folk seem to have! (especially the tiny cluster of Brits interested in 'that foreign stuff' I've wound myself up far too much over the years waiting for the 'key model' to be produced (viz the recent discussions on my 50 year wait for an 'affordable' N Gauge SNCF 141R)

cornish trains jez
To add one more item to my wish list would be a BLS ABDe 4/8. I think this would make a great model. Best regards, Jeremy

Another I would have liked to have seen is the BLS De4/5; there was only the Fulgurex(?) one produced. I fear though that withe the originals gone the audience for the De4/5 model is beyond its peak. Certainly the emphasis these days seems to be to produce models of the current stock in all its livery changes, for the collectors.

Agreed - the older 'proper' BLS EMUs are a big gap in Swiss N gauge .

In reality, there's little expectation that manufacturers will happen to produce x specific rolling stock that I like, especially in a smaller market like Swiss outline. I saw a recent forum discussion/moan/rant where GB modellers were bemoaning the lack of an Electrostar in OO gauge - one of the most ubiquitous EMUs, in one of the most well-represented markets, in the most popular gauge, and it still hasn't been produced. So we have no chance! But it is fun to speculate, and I'm always interested to know what fellow modellers are hoping for.

Not sure if they are doing a 00 gauge version though.
37201xoIM
Would it be bad and wrong to say I'd be delighted if the modernised Bemo RhB Ge 6/6 II, first announced some time in the late 19th century*, were actually to put in an appearance before the heat-death of the universe? * This may possibly be a slight exaggeration.
Michanglais
I quite enjoy the odd wishlist. They may go ignored but there's a fun element. All in N: I, too, would like to see an updated re 4/4 IV - so 'ugly' they're attractive! (My own view, obviously :) Otherwise, any of the high-speed units. I'm guessing there'll be releases of the relevant coaches in the new 'red door/IC2020' livery (not sure if it's got a specific name). Maybe too much to have a whole rake of them but slipping one or two into a rake of plain black/white EWIVs/ECs wouldn't be unwelcome. This would need to include the new shape black window surround on the driving cars from Fleischmann but seems unlikely just yet given how long we've been waiting for the original re-release of the EWIV plain black/white driving trailers... Now over to the French railways section to see if there's a wishlist there I can join in on!

When they were announced wasn't planning on shelling out on a whole new rake, but having spent a few days out and about last month and then had the opportunity to visit Molard Jouets before going to Geneva airport, I couldn't resist picking up a couple as I hand spent a long weekend observing mixed rakes of '2000' and '2020' livery coaches. I saw rakes containuing as few as one 2020 livery and as many as 5 or 6 out of 8. I particularly took advantage of standing in the snow waiting for the new GoldenPass Express to get some broadside shots at Spiez: Edited January 9, 2023 by Gordonwis

My immediate thoughts: - Probably about par for what I'd have guessed they would do, no huge surprises - Re 6/6 is nice but I would have liked to have seen a modern-numbered 620 in red - my wait will go on! - The 484 is welcome and probably the most likely purchase for me
