This time it is Galtee More with the 6.20 KX- Leeds. It is followed in by B17 Tottenham Hotspur, which has only come up from East with the shuttle.

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 12 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 12 The A3 has stopped, and with 13 on is well off the platform end, which means the chimney is nicely placed to avoid growths. Approaching on the Up is the 5.33 Leeds-KX, A4 hauled, which will also stop, giving the station staff a very busy few minutes.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 13 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 13 As the A4 gets closer, we can see that it is Seagull, on the return leg of one of 34A's three daily A4 turns to Leeds. Two minutes elapse with both expresses at the platforms, then Galtee More gets the signas to move north.
37Oban
Is it me or is that kink near the turnout getting worse? I know it would be a PITA to fix but it would be well worth it both for appearance and running. Roja

The camera is, as usual, exaggerating it anyway.

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 13 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 13 Two more views of Seagull, now waiting for the off. I have had a very strange day. I needed to get photos of my car taken to get it sold on Motorway, and enlisted the support of my neighbour, who understands mobiles and their cameras more than I do. However, our efforts kept getting rejected, so we took a break. Yesterday I had the car valeted, and after the guy had gone found my rear view mirror in the glove compartment, so getting that back on was a priority. Asked the nice chap at my local garage, and he said to go to either a place about three miles away, or to Halfords, 15 miles away, who he said would probably fix it back on for me. That decided me, and off I went. On the way, one of my windscreen wipers decided to detach itself, and yes, it was raining. Response at Halfords? "Impossible to refix them, you'll have to go to your Ford dealer". Had enough by now, so didn't try the place three miles away, and came home for a cup of tea. Rang dealer, and was told that I'm not registered there, they can't/won't help me. Tried next nearest dealer, but they didn't bother answering the phone. Screamed quietly so as not to upset the neighbours, after which we tried the photos again, but John couldn't get them accepted. Raining hard now, so we took a break, but I decided to have a go myself. And somehow, it worked, so the car is waiting to go in the next Motorway auction, with a gratifyingly good reserve price. After lunch, went to the place in Bingham, three miles away. Nice man said it may be possible to get it back on, showed me what was necessary to achieve this, and then said he'd do it for me. He did, and for the time being at least, it has stayed on. Then I mentioned the wiper blade, which had somehow stuck to the side of the windscreen. I'll have a look, I might be able to repair it, wait a few minutes please. Back he came, no, can't repair it, so here is a replacement, which he fitted. I asked how much I owed him, and he said, no that's all right, happy to help! So from depths of rage and despair to find that there are still some very good people in the world after all. A very contrasting day. Why didn't I go there first though? 9 1

RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 14 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 14 Not a good start to the day. Went to car, mirror has fallen off again. Went to image store, and found I have run out of shopped photos. Found this plonk you may not have seen before, and that will have to do for this morning, I'm afraid. 18 1
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 14 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 14 More shopping done, so here is the last train of the day from Grimsby. with one of our more presentable local B1s. I decided to do a full session using my small tripod, so everything you see for a while will be from up in the air.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 15 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 15 Whatever levitational device it is that is being used has now swooped across to the other side of the layout, where it finds lighting conditions to be completely different. We are still focusing on 61113 though. 39
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 15 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 15 The East shuttle has come in to Platform 6. Tottenham Hotspur has no doubt been sent up with it to avoid a light engine movement. I swear that lamp had not fallen off when I took the photo. The camera then floated down to the south end, and showed me this image with Station Road as backdrop. I thought it sufficiently nice to include, and of course at least one regular visitor will be happy to see it. 32
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 16 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 16 The cameraman wanted to see how the vegetable garden was coming on, so he swooped a bit closer. Then he heard the sound of an approaching train, and moved back to capture Pretty Polly coming under the bridge with the 6,35 KX-Hull.
RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 16 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 16 Pretty Polly now meets 61113 as it slows for the stop. and soon afterwards Polly is seen at rest. RMweb Premium Popular Post great northern Posted February 17 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted February 17 Back now to Spital Bridge, but still hovering above it. We now get this view of the waiting A3, and a 9F which has been allowed to come across its path and along the Up slow. A bit of zoom, which doesn't seem to have got things too much out of focus, and thought about cropping to remove the hanging bridge, but that would have cropped out the 9F too. I hope it meets with your approval. Whatever this chap is using must be jet powered, as he now manages to get back down to the south end before the 9F has travelled more than a few yards onward.
