Bit of a change of pace. DCC and sound added today to my Scaletrains CN tier 4 GEVO.

Quite a few years ago I added sound to some of my US N scale locos using the MRC decoders. They were very good for their time but the build quality of them meant that a number of locos certain functions didnt work even after a factory reset. The later Tsunami factory fitted sound was much better but by then I had decided to go down the route of the Soundtraxx Surroundtrax system with under board speakers.

I ought to try one of the latest decoders in one of our Scaletrains locos.

Superb figure painting.

Superb figure painting.

It is an ESU loksound chip that went in my Scaletrains loco, very easy to do. Sound is pretty good too; though UK sound seems to have more sounds if you want play factor (station abiance, wheel sounds, etc.)

Thank you.

Some more figures painted while on the road.

1. woman from fine scale figures, with a bag

2. fitter with tea cup and ear protection

3. fitter squating

4. fitter with wrench and beard.

The fitters need hi vis stripes added and one has lost his wrench so will need to fabricate that when home
