RMweb Premium TheQ Posted July 2, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 2, 2019 Just came back via the local car parts shop.. They can't sell me a battery for the motor scooter as they don't have an acids licence... Funny they sold me a lawn mower battery last week, must be old stock. And no they don't know of an equivalent sealed battery the could sell me.. Well I won't be back there again.. The internet comes to the rescue.. I've used Tayna online before, for marine batteries but I was trying to " "shop local" so the online ordered battery will be here in the next couple of days, tomorrow if Tayna are up to their normal standards..
RMweb Gold Kingzance Posted July 2, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 2, 2019 In response to The Q's post above, for some time I have been advocating "shop local" as I believe we need to provide employment and revenue for our local communities. Sadly, the endless march of bureaucracy exampled above, coupled with questionable skills exhibited by shop staff and the additional costs they face compared to internet traders and global business only hastens the appearance of retail wastelands. How soon will it be that the state will decide what we need and will be sending us what it wants us to have, no doubt at exorbitant costs? Eventually there will come a time when the state decrees we are to be terminated, when all deliveries to us will stop or they will simply close our bank accounts. It is certainly possible and recent Chancellors have been keen for us to move to a cashless society which is the ideal platform on which to base that change. I'm just off to the potting shed now, more seeds to plant. 8

Popular Post AndyID
Both Idaho senators are about to get an earful (by email). I just got a phone call from "State of Idaho" which turned out to be a robocall about credit cards. I worked in telecoms for years and there is absolutely no reason why our government and the telcos can't stop this nonsense. We worry about people invading the U.S. but we can't get off our backsides and prevent people invading our telephone systems. It's pathetic. Here endeth the daily rant. 2 2
RMweb Gold Popular Post 81C Posted July 2, 2019 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted July 2, 2019 Afternoon All I can't get use to going out to work and dog sitting the big/ little buqqer he savaged me today with claw scratches every where as he tried to jump up and lick my face bless him. I had dialog with HER today about her nasty clan she assured me gossip had not come from her side I'm reluctant to believe her but let the matter drop I need to get this house sold it's clearly overpriced and these estate agent sh!ts do that on purpose to reel you in. I've had a word with then about my hearing disability isn't being taken seriously and I will be contacting the relative authority to lodge a complaint about them if they don't see us in the next 2 days, I've left it with HER to set up a meeting by Thursday as I still can't cope very well with Phone calls if not I'll pull the plug on them they also left the house unsecured yesterday which is totally unprofessional . Love the boots Chris I wore them as a teenager they were the cherry red in those days yours's are a bit too colorful for my liking. Better see about some food of some description I.M. RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted July 2, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 2, 2019 If I need a battery for my car it has to be “integrated” into the car system at a dealer. However we are well served by Halfords and if I needed a battery for the other car I would go there. Some of the other local car parts establishments are not so good. Halfords sell scooter batteries too but that wouldn’t be of help to Q if there is not one out in Norfolk.

She duly guided to a shelf on which could be found something called 'Copper Mixture'. - which left me wondering what the flippin' difference is (apart from the name) Doesn't sound so "French"? 1

RMweb Gold Tony_S Posted July 2, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 2, 2019 For the benefit of overseas readers once upon a time U2 was a common battery size though Bono et al (I did like Pete the Moles “Edge “ comment too) are I believe named after the spy plane rather than the battery. Indeed it does (sadly - but we are at least able to recycle plastic bags here) however that doesn't apparently stop the moron who is enshrouding said paper from never quite managing to do his simple job correctly. Net result there is always some opening for the rain to get in, especially when it's a severe thunderstorm as we've recently been having! I despair, it's not THAT hard a job, is it? RMweb Premium Dave Hunt Posted July 2, 2019 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 2, 2019 I've had flying boots, motorcycle boots, Meindl boots, Wellington boots, old boots and new boots but nothing remotely like Chrisf's boots! How good are they? Make sure you wear sunglasses Chris or, failing that, don't look down when marching. And don't wear The Tie at the same time. Earlier today I tried to book train tickets on Virgin's web site but despite repeatedly clicking on 'paper tickets' so that I can pick them up at a station fast ticket machine it insisted on defaulting to 'etickets sent to your smartphone'. If I had a smartphone maybe that would be OK but I haven't so I tried ringing the customer helpline; since I have other things to do with my life I didn't persevere beyond the first ten minutes of each call and the constant messages about them experiencing very high call volumes. It would seem that nowadays if you don't have a smartphone you don't rate recognition. Currently in darkest Rutland where friend's pre- birthday is well under way with a small libation of Tullamore Dew sliding down nicely and possibly probably some more to follow. Have a good evening; I intend to. Dave 5 1
