RMweb Premium polybear Posted October 28, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 28, 2020 Bear has just received his new SDS Drill - just in time as I have jobs needing it's attention Only the Bozo's have sent a 115v version instead of a 240v jobbie..... Now I'm just waiting for them to tell me they can't send a replacement without first receiving the old one back...

Popular Post iL Dottore
I think (hope?) that Mr Bear will be a most sympathetic ear as I recount this afternoon's tragic course of events: Mrs iD made me bake a chocolate chip chocolate cake with a black chocolate glaze and I had to give the entire thing away (Mrs iD demanded it for her Dog Club Meeting tonight). Nary a crumb passed my lips. And the painful thing is, in anticipation of a slice, I had carefully husbanded and squirrelled away the necessary carbs from my meagre daily carbohydrate allowance. Life can be so unfair.... Edited October 28, 2020 by iL Dottore

Best wishes to Tony. AndrewC should perhaps make more use of the rolls usually provided in those "small houses of forgetting" What has happened to my lovely sunny day? It was cold but beautiful at the House of Fun - a truly crisp Autumn morning. Now it isn't just the bottom which is soggy but the entire Hill of Strawberries. The lights went out, the cloud turned from grey to black and stair-rods of heavy rain hammered down. It's too late in the day now for decent light to return. SWMBO has busied herself writing and mailing all the C******s cards we normally send. Alarmed by the fact that it took six weeks for a copy of her book to reach her mother in Australia she has probably over-reacted and the good folks downunder (also in Spain, Canada and around the UK) are likely to receive a surprisingly early greeting before it is even November! I for my sins have got stuck into the M*******g must-do list in order to achieve the deadline for submission of a video promised by November 17th. Ocado is due within the hour. Nothing missing from the order. But no further delivery slots available in the future so we may have to use who ever we can get for a while. The next three deliveries are already booked then there's a slight gap until the big ones a few days ahead of Festivas. Stay well. Keep warm. Mind the Gap. 17

Being forced to give away a choccy chip choccy cake is bad enough, but one that you've put your heart and soul into creating is nigh on grounds for divorce, on the grounds of mental abuse. May Bear suggest baking a second, secret, bigger and better version during Mrs iD's attendance at doggie club? 13 7 1
simontaylor484
Some of you may recall me commenting on the "haunted house" in Pontefract. It is on tv tonight on the Really channel (17 on freeview) i dont know anything else about this programme. I have seen the house on most haunted and several investigation videos on You Tube.
RMweb Premium Popular Post PhilJ W Posted October 28, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 28, 2020 Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Belated best wishes to Tony, I live not quite close enough to the hospital to give him a wave. Been quite a bit going on over there this afternoon what with the air ambulance arriving about an hour and a half ago. For some reason it didn't use the hospital helipad but the golf course on the other side of the road. It left at about ten to four and at four o'clock the heavens opened with hail, thunder and lightning, hopefully the helicopter was well away from there by then. I met my friend in Tess Coes, he had his lad in tow, the first time I had seen the boy since the beginning of March and he's now a couple of inches taller. My friend also informed me that his brother, who lives in Leicester, has tested Covid-19 positive as has his daughter my friends niece. Chips with something for dinner tonight, found some in the freezer when making space for the C*******s stuff, they're well on the way to thawing out now. 15
RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted October 28, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 28, 2020 Afternoon awl, while slowly plodding through the calibration , the boss appears and says, make sure you join the the "teams" meeting, and don't worry you're safe..... So I join the meeting and there's lots about refocusing the company, and big budget projects will stop, or be reduced in scope. 7 posts are to go in engineering... Out of about 15... However.. Three posts that have 2 paws in engineering, and 2 in calibration are moving sideways to have 3 paws in calibration and one in engineering. That's the boss, the missing deputy post, and me. So we report 100% to calibration in the USA, but have minor items such as time sheets and other local to site items done through engineering.. Meanwhile engineering now all report to one boss, instead of many.. But 4 posts are to go, ....and two are to be created Of those we definitely know who three are and are pretty sure who the last is.. Funnily enough one of the 4 is the ex deputy boss of calibration.. So there's a good chance he'll becoming back into calibration. Of the other 3, one is already on the rundown, working 4 days a week. Another is the only prototype engineer , who makes the physical prototypes.., the 4th is a hardware design engineer. Personally I think it's the part timer they are hoping to get rid of, and hoping the ex cal engineer will accept to push back to Cal. Another thing that came out of the meeting was the Site will not be forced to do use the common platform for future products, we work on RF capable test equipment, and the US bosses have finally admitted the platform is not fast enough... Coming home I was to pick up SWMBO who had delivered the car for MOT and service... She said pick her up by the green metal fence by the school. So I get there and she's not there... So 3 trips round Stalham, plus stopping at the garage and no sign..... So eventually I head for home... And find her.. Sat by the green metal fence of the secondary school... Several hundred yards away round a road junction, well beyond the primary school with the green metal fence, near the garage... 1
RMweb Premium Popular Post NGT6 1315 Posted October 28, 2020 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted October 28, 2020 Cheers, everyone. Wet outside and I don't plan to stray outside for anything beyond putting rubbish into the bin, for example! The way things stand now, this country is headed for a new lockdown during November, during which no festivals and similar events may take place and restaurants may offer only takeaway or home delivery service. Shops are to remain open, though restrictions to the number of customers can apply depending on floor area and related factors. Also, schools and nurseries can remain open, but of course have to observe hygiene regulations. Measures coming in effect by the start of the month are to be reviewed after a fortnight. Not a lot else to mention right now, actually, so, be safe… Later! 9
The Lurker
Greetings all from the fold in the side of the hill. It’s cold here but I think the rain from earlier has gone. best wishes to Tony; I hope his hospital stay is as brief as intended. we are in the middle of year end so work is hectic. It seems to be going better than last year in terms of getting all the info to the auditors so hopefully they will not be too much of a pain and we actually sign everything on time. have a good evening all 15 1
iL Dottore
I am afraid to say that I may be absent from ER for quite some time, probably a number of years. It depends on what happens at the trial tomorrow. I have been accused of drowning 45 people in a vat of rice crispies over a period of 10 years. The police have said that I am Switzerland’s worst ever cereal killer! 1

They wanted a chance to "see if we can do better", so gave 'em a chance anyway. Their renewal price of £326 came down (after an interim first-step price) to £239. Ok, says Bear, that'll do. Just goes to show how much they were taking the p1ss the first time.... Similar experience this end a few days ago, though as I'd found a better deal at two-thirds the price and time's short, I had already placed the business elsewhere. Memo to management: don't b*gger your customers about or they'll walk. (There, that will save you a fortune in consultants' fees on how to increase your market share, maybe you could pass those savings on to customers ... ... silly bunny...) 15

RMweb Premium Gwiwer Posted October 28, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted October 28, 2020 I don’t routinely follow such things but the Ian Visits Facebook page has alerted its followers to the creation of a purple corridor at short notice this evening. It appears HM is to be helicoptered from Windsor to Sandringham at very short notice. We know DoE has been there for a while now. Eyes on the news. It may not be good. 1
