RMweb Premium Popular Post jamie92208 Posted September 18, 2023 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted September 18, 2023 Good afternoon from a damp and getting damper Charente. Much skipping has been done as we are now recovering from a rather hectic weekend and having No 1 son and his other half staying. The party went well and my centrepiece of a photo display showing Beth in virtually every year of her life was very well received, even by the birthday girl. Much red and other colours of falling down water have been drunk and the house is starting to get tidy again. How can one 30 something female need all the kitchen table for assorted essential carp. Beth now has to redistribute to somewhere all the pot plants that she has been given. One end of the living room resembles a rain forest. Of course as this activity all took place in the muddlin' room it does of course comply with orders from a certain Sqn. Ldr......doesn't it? Aside from the 04.15 bladder alarm which could not be “snoozed” for 45 minutes until the horological alarm went off there was someone outside playing with his hammer in the sky. Loud and persistent thunder woke me, prevented me sleeping for some time, watched me doze fitfully off and promptly woke me again. The cheek of it. Not so much lightning (that I was aware of) but a goodly amount of heavy rain. It is now time for a catch-up snooze ……..
RMweb Premium jjb1970 Posted September 18, 2023 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 18, 2023 I hope Barry gets well soon and is released from captivity as quickly as possible. Good to hear the food is good though. Last time I was in hospital I was on IV feeding, white gunk. SE Asian for dinner tonight, chicken rice (one of the signature dishes of Singapore) and perkedels (Indonesian potato fritter), splendid. I love chicken rice, chicken served over rice which has been cooked in a chicken stock. I find plain steamed rice to be a filler which is good to bulk up dishes and absorb flavour (perfect for curry and other sauce/gravy dishes) but I can't get enthusiastic about just steamed rice. Chicken rice is also called 'greasy rice' here which tells you something about it but it has a lovely, delicate flavour. 16

RMweb Premium Popular Post jamie92208 Posted September 18, 2023 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted September 18, 2023 Supportive thoughts to Baz, and Mrs Baz from across La Manche. We do have a surplus of various forms of falling down water if that would help. Some of it is known as the water of life. Here are a couple of photos from the 'do' on Saturday. Here the assembled crowd from two nations. The birthday girl and the chief conspirator. One of the display boards. No 4, 1980 to 1989 And another, board 5 from 1990 to 1996. The support poles for the display boards got lost in the move so I had to hurriedly extemporise with broom handles, a bit some sort of bathroom fitting and feet made from decking supports. RMweb Premium Popular Post TheQ Posted September 18, 2023 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted September 18, 2023 Afternoon Awl, Before starting the listed plans I decided to start demolishing the tree stump, previously extracted from the ground. I'd chopped a lot of it up into larger pieces ( full size axe) then something went in my left lower rear thigh to knee. It was a very painful hobble back to the house, it's still very painful now... So I spent the rest of the morning afternoon, drawing up the future unmentionable actually on the boards, some adjustment will probably be needed. One board to go now,

RMweb Gold Popular Post Tony_S Posted September 18, 2023 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted September 18, 2023 @Barry O. I am sure you will get sorted out. Aditi occasionally reminds me that my stubbornness to do anything about my symptoms (I was sure it was indigestion) wasn’t a good idea. As the what later turned out to be a heart attack was a few hundred miles out to sea from New York, I missed out on the 111 call and ambulance but once I had visited my GP everything happened very quickly. Well it did at first but Covid lockdowns caused a bit of a delay to, some of the procedures. However the medications really helped a lot until they got on with the other actions. RMweb Gold Popular Post DaveF Posted September 18, 2023 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted September 18, 2023 Having booked the Covid jab and received the confirmation by text and e mail I have printed it off to take with me tomorrow. I have also checked I know where the pharmacy is on Google Earth -its very close to a house I nearly bought over 40 years when I moved to Northumberland. All I need to do now is work out how long it will take to get there - it is a bit over 7 miles away so not far. Then I had a very short walk as just after I had left the house the rain started, it was still some nice fresh air. I got back in time for coffee and then received a text from the dentist reminding me to book for a check up. However the last appointment was postponed, once by me though illness and once by them through illness so having had a chat with the receptionist we decided that December would be a good time go rather than October as that would only be just over 6 weeks since the last visit. It is reassuring that once I had told the receptionist my name she at once said that I had been there recently so the appointment needn't be urgent. It was only after that she looked the details up on their computer to check the exact date. In the early afternoon the rain stopped so after letting my food go down while doing a bit on a model I went into the garden and gave it yet another tidy up, autumn is coming fast now and annuals are starting to die. While I was outside the garage rang to tell me that my new car is on track for the expected delivery date, it just has to be built at the factory. Shortly it will be time for tea then as it is Monday there are quizzes to watch and books to read so I will be busy until bedtime. Popular Post The Lurker
on Covid jabs, my parents, who live in a town of around 10,000 people are unable to get a covid jab in the town. But they are able to book a jab in a village of about 3,000 a few miles away. There's not a reliable bus service and in any case it would take my old man and his version of The Hip about 25 minutes to get to the bus stop. The bloke next door who gave them a lift in the past has now sadly died. So they're hoping the even older bloke over the road, who still drives, is also going to get a jab and can give them a lift too. Either that or they'll have to ask the famous actor* who lives over the road. Quite why the medical centre in the town can't do it is anybody's guess....they have offered the flu jab. * can't be that famous because he lives over the road from my parents in a 1960's housing estate. Still, he has been on The Bill and Waterloo Road, apparently.
