Yesterday it was summer and therefore was 40, today it is Autumn and so it was down to 30. The leaves on the un-Australian trees will soon change colour and drop off and we'll all be out in our big puffy coats complaining about the cold. Flipping lightweights! Wouldn't last 5 minuted Doon the Toon... RMweb Premium PhilJ W Posted March 1 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 1 Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Not raining at this minute but it's coming over a bit dark. Add to that it's rather blustery at the moment so it's a good idea to stay indoors. Time to run a bath, be back later.

But the hangover lasted so long I had to go to A&E… they said you’ve got a busted nose. Ah Happy Days. I remember that concert. I was touring with The Döctörs of Destructiön earning my tuition fees by supporting Motörhead (Lemmy was great fun and a total gent) and one night we had this totally insane and surreal experience - some crazy Grizzly was slam dancing in the mosh pit, necking something lethal looking, creating absolute mayhem. I remember saying at the time to our bassist - Syd Snot (now Prof Moulton-Brown, Professor Emeritus of Neuroanatomy at UCL) - that that Grizz is gonna have one hell of a hangover... Happy days indeed. 3 1

RMweb Gold Popular Post DaveF Posted March 1 RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted March 1 I had a slightly longer walk this morning, I was quite tired when I got home. Then I had another look at the garden and thought what I will do to it this year. Probably not much as I will not be digging or doing heavy things for some time! I've checked the dates I normally sow seeds in the greenhouse and have decided that I may just go to a garden centre in April and buy plants, it might be much easier for once. Part of my lunch involved a tin of baked beans. The ring pull to open it fell off as I pulled it so I had to resort to a tin opener, it was actually much less effort that way. Then I watched Father Brown and dozed a bit - not easy with the work still ongoing next door and a man from SKY on the other side replacing a satellite dish. As I woke to get a mug of tea it started to rain, which turned into a downpour with sleet. It has now gone back to a more normal steady rain. Once again the evening is a blank canvas, it looks as though it may be an old film again and then another trip in Switzerland unless I decided to sit quietly and read with music in the background. To be honest it has almost been a boring day but perhaps I should learn to enjoy days when nothing happens. David 5
Popular Post Ian Abel
POETS... that's happening for sure! Yesterday an enjoyable happy hour and then choir rehearsal, although missing a few friends who've chosen this week to seek sunnier climes. Today, will take it easy, Mrs baking a cheese cake for my upcoming cycle around the sun tomorrow - she has a great New York-style cheesecake that she makes for me every birthday, very VERY yummy 😀 Tomorrow - the trip-trip-round-the-sun happy hour/party. Will be missing Jemma as she's on a trip, but a nice small gathering expected - Indian take-away on the menu. Nothing else particular planned for the weekend, but I'm sure we can find something that needs doing. Today, 3c first thing and sunny, heading for a high of 13c today, 16c tomorrow and 21c Sunday, Sunday MAY break another record. Carry on, enjoy the weekend all. Baz Ahhhh ‘A Neet Doon Toon’….bin there and done that a few times. Loved the Porcy Arms…on “Bottles of Dog….bonnie lad.” Rounded off a curry not too far from the station, but again usually a bit too tired and political to remember exactly where we ate. 15

On the last world tour, when the Döctörs of Destructiön were on tour with the Pink Polar Bears (an amazing all-female heavy metal band comprising 4 young women and 5 bad attitudes), following a dare from the lead singer of PPB ("Bitch Cow" was her stage name) Gizzard Puke necked 10 lemonades in a row and ate ten bags of curly fries in 5 minutes - still frozen! After they released him from hospital, he entered a downward self-destructive spiral and is now a polyester tie wearing quantity surveyor in Penge. Sad, really. 1 2 2

RMweb Premium Popular Post polybear Posted March 1 RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted March 1 Bear here.... Guess what? Been waitin' in all afternoon for some Amazon T0sser to turn up with my parcel - and then at half five I get a message saying it's "been delayed" 🤬 Ar5ebadgers. Now they're sayin' it "should be with me by 3rd March"; well if they think I'm sittin' around waiting for it all weekend they're sadly mistaken. Could've gone for a wander this afternoon. Nobs. I suppose I can now let the cat out of the bag! One or two of the Döctörs of Destructiön who have permission from their SWMBOs have teamed up with the surviving members of The Psychotic Bimblers, The Boat Strokers plus the drummer from The Pink Polar Bears (Mz Tomboy Harridan) to form a new "Supergroup" Old and Still Nasty. They are currently in rehearsal for their world tour (sponsored by CCI GmbH) I can ask Captain Cynical if he can get you an Access All Areas VIP pass for when they are playing near Grizz Villa.
