RMweb Gold Popular Post Worsdell forever Posted July 8, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted July 8, 2019 Bit of a faffing job tonight that I've been puzzling over for a few days, for late period NER lettering and numbers we normally use LNER transfers, the large numbers and small N E with the full stops. The problem here is that I've chosen 1333, NER 3s were flat-topped and LNER were round... in the end I've used the bottom 2/3 of a 3 and the top 1/3 of a 7 with a bit of touching up with a bit of black paint. It's not quite right but as near as I think I can get. There isn't the same problem with the bufferbeam numbers as they are provided on the HMRS NER sheet. 22 1

With my typing propensity for inadvertant Spoonerism's, then I would never tackle the comment above! Lovely model, Paul. Really does capture the essence of the prototype, though I've only ever seen photos of this class. Cheers Mike

RMweb Gold Popular Post Worsdell forever Posted July 11, 2019 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted July 11, 2019 Couple of little jobs tonight, a planked cab floor and fall plate has been added and the planks in the front of the coal space to keep the coal in, none of this can be seen but the driver and fireman have arrived to take charge of their steed. 20

JaymzHatstand
That is absolutely gorgeous! Did you think about printing your own 3s, or would that have meant too many specialist printer cartridges? Cheers J

RMweb Gold Mikkel Posted July 17, 2019 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 17, 2019 A very neat build and a great prototype. Suits the layout very well. What's the origin of the crew, I don't think I recognize them?

What's the origin of the crew, I don't think I recognize them? The crew is from Andrew Stadden, 'Edwardian Enginemen' (first and eighth from the left). I will have got these before the crews with separate heads and arms were available, I had them already painted and they looked right so put them in.
Rosedale
That is a superb piece of work Paul and looks good up on Rosedale. It runs like a sewing machine on the rolling road and looks absolutely beautiful! What's to say that it couldn't have gone up to the tops? I know that getting an engine up the incline was a big job, but I'm not sure all the records are complete and a bit of modellers licence is not a bad thing. I'm biased and just preparing the ground for a J7 and Darlington Class 59 on my Blakey Rigg layout!! 1
