Fat Controller
No.12 Bettshanger Colliery 5.5.69 by George Woods, on Flickr Looking closely, you can see that one end of the wagon has been cut away, allowing it to serve as an improvised tender, or at least as a coal store, as the crew would have to shovel the coal into the bunker of the loco itself. Fat Controller
Still in better nick than the ones that used to go straight into the furnace at Sheerness Steel after being terminally battered by the unloading magnet ................... So BSC Landore wasn't the only plant that did that? A lot of the bodies used to part from the chassis as the magnet was lifted, as the acid moisture from shipment coal caused them to rot through there. They used to keep the chassis to move scrap moulds around.

br2975
Clearly the wrong side of 'the General' Which for those unfamiliar with Cardiff was Cardiff General station which ls between Canton and Newtown (as was) in railway terms and is west of the Electric Loop (yes, it really was called that). Which name actually featured in the Working Timetables of the time. . Brian R
