Nice little diorama, funnily enough I did a weekend build of the ICM Model T Ford Ambulance in your 3rd photograph but it didn't quite turn out the same !

It was done as a fun build and as a kit I mut say a pleasure to make.

A couple more. The Bedford QL truck was an eBay purchase cleaned up and re-painted. The CMP truck was built yesterday from a resin and white metal kit. Both 1:48 scale.

Two more 1/48th P51Ds have been completed over the last year.

This is from the Italeri "Pacific Aces" kit which I think is the Hasegawa moulding under another label. I choose

the "Stinger VII" option as flown by Robert Moore.  This comes with a big sheet of alternative decals and they

go on very well, although the artwork for each plane is completely mis-labelled on the box and instruction - beware!

This is a Tamiya build of "Petie 2nd". I had a bit of trouble with decal adhesion in places but that was eventually

overcome with lashings of Micro-Sol.

I've posted this before, but here are my two earlier Hasegawa and Tamiya P51ds.

My scratchbuilt Clyde Puffer in 7mm scale. Radio controlled, hull made from obechi planks on ply frames. Must build a harbour layout for it...…..

Sorry about the quality of the pictures - photography is NOT among my achievements.

Quite impressive.  A great deal more intricate than my attempt at an RC boat, and I even had more scale to work in!

The Bristol Scout of Captain Lanoe George Hawker VC DSO of 6 Squadron RFC. Hawker won the Victoria Cross for downing three enemy aircraft in one day in 1915, whilst flying this machine, which was no mean feat considering that the single Lewis gun was mounted on the fuselage but fired at an angle to clear the propeller.

Lanoe Hawker was killed in action on 23rd November 1916 whilst flying a DH2 of 24 Squadron and engaged in a single combat with an Albatros D.II, piloted by Leutnant Manfred Von Richtofen a.k.a. The Red Baron.

Hi,

Finally got hold of a copy of Zero - Fighting Colours. If you think railway colours can be contentious then WW2's Mitsubishi Zero is well up there. The book does have a lot of useful and well researched information. Based on that I've had a go at a Nakajima built Model 21 using the Airfix kit. For £7 it's a decent effort though the 3x more expensive Tamiya kit is easily the best available in 72nd.

The early Nakajima Zero's were finished in a version of IJN "grey" that had a distinct caramel tinge and this is my take on it. The fabric control surfaces appear a different shade as they were finished with coloured dope rather than being overpainted. The white surround to the fuselage Hinomaru was particular to Nakajima built planes.
