Chris & David yes I do have his details but thought it wiser not to place them in public view without checking first but I see Alan has beaten me to it.

I'll pm you both in case Alan hasn't already done it.

Regards

Any news yet on when his details will be available,

as I would like to get some of these for my shunting

plank.

Although it does seem a little strange that someone

who is trying to sell a product hasn't let anyone know

how their prospective customers can contact them!

I have emailed the proprietor and asked if it's OK to post his details on here but haven't heard back yet. His mail to me on Friday suggested he will be ready to start making them available in a couple of weeks time.

Hi,

Glad to hear that after you initial concerns.

When will we see them available to the general public?

I get my RE magnets from a company in Chippenham.

Glad to see that these are available at last. However I have more or less settled for Bachmann OO tension lock couplings and so far they seem to work very well. A loco just needs a wire loop set at the right height for perfect coupling every time.

Hello Barnaby.

I have used the Bachmann mini couplings with the arms cut off and them mounted them on a plastic block made from Evergreen strip. So far I am using a "spade" to uncouple which works well. I like your idea of the staple for auto uncoupling and may give this a try in due course. Not sure if the coupling is too high to allow the staple to be attracted but we will see. Thanks for the good idea

Mike has done something similar on Reely Grate but Rod and I don't bother with magnetic uncoupling on Ramchester. We just wanted something that is quicker and easier to operate with than pratting around with screw and 3-link couplers. I am reposting some pics which were first posted on our Ramchester thread.

Only a loop is needed on locos

Hi Fellas,

Thanks for the updates.

I have been experimenting with the Bachmann's too, and have, with a little work, added a dropper - to work with magnets.

Barnaby - any chance of seeing some photos of the underside of the Lincs fitted wagons?

So, who's going to be first to post s photo of them installed, or a video of them working?

No need really - I used the originals years ago and they work very well indeed and are also very simple to make up and install.  They are also unobtrusive to my eyes, although personally I prefer to chemically blacken the wires/hooks, which renders them all but invisible unless you really look hard.

Just ordered a batch for my new O Gauge layout.

LOL Don yes it is a case of a magnet for every use thinkable hundreds there is.

Digging out my invoice shows that they are coded F671 and named 10mm dia x 3mm thick N42 neodymium magnet - 1.8Kg pull.

Here's the invoice page >>> http://www.first4magnets.com/circular-disc-rod-magnets-c34/10mm-dia-x-3mm-thick-n42-neodymium-magnet-1-8kg-pull-p3637#ps_1-2557

Not sure if that will show for you as I did register on the site but the F671 should ID it for you..

Best regards

Hy CME way back when on page 3 post #70 I posted just what you asked then and again now -- must be an age thing :blum:

You can see the same pieces I show above as separate bits which get stuck onto a plastic plate then stuck to the wagon bottom see post #70.

Regards

Indeed, thanks!

Information overload, too many other things on my mind etc etc!

LOL.

Kindest,
