Yet another from the Cartmel Code 3 stable

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hornby-RAILWAYS-No-R452-exLMS-BR-Class3F-0-6-0T-JINTY-TANK-LOCO-CODE-3-/300875502992?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item460d93d590

Unfortunately the "realistic" repaint and early emblem didn't quite cover the late crest originally on the side of this "preversed" loco.

ENGINE DRIVEN MODEL LOCO

That's a relief, what are the other options?

Anyone know if the red box ones ever had metal couplings?

Perhaps he should buy this one and swap them over, much later model in earlier box.

I would assume the red boxes started in 1959 with the launch of 2 rail, so it's possible. It would depend on stocks at the time. The restaurant cars were quite popular, so could well have been due for a rerun. Presumably new boxes would have been printed for the release of the maroon cars around this time. Of course the chances of a model in the wrong box is high after all this time.

£110 seems rather excessive for a Hornby 3F, when the Bachmann one is available (or even if it wasn't!) The lion transfer is flaking off too.

I know some peoples' activities give modellers a bad name, but even so I didn't expect to see these listed under 'Finescale'...................................

Another form of masochism?

Funny you should mention that, though. That bloke I bought parts of a Bachmann Ivatt 4 from; well, after its tender was received by me, he then listed a latex catsuit.....

....and since we're in the mood, Pam Ayres wrote a poem entitled "Fifty Shades of Grey":

FIFTY SHADES OF GREY - (a husband's point of view) :

The missus bought a Paperback,

down Shepton Mallet way,

I had a look inside her bag;

... T'was "Fifty Shades of Grey".

Well I just left her to it,

And at ten I went to bed.

An hour later she appeared;

The sight filled me with dread...

In her left she held a rope;

And in her right a whip!

She threw them down upon the floor,

And then began to strip.

Well fifty years or so ago;

I might have had a peek;

But Mabel hasn't weathered well;

She's eighty four next week!!

Watching Mabel bump and grind;

Could not have been much grimmer.

And things then went from bad to worse;

She toppled off her Zimmer!

She struggled back upon her feet;

A couple minutes later;

She put her teeth back in and said

I am a dominater !!

Now if you knew our Mabel,

You'd see just why I spluttered,

I'd spent two months in traction

For the last complaint I'd uttered.

She stood there nude and naked

Bent forward just a bit

I went to hold her, sensual like

and stood on her left tit!

Mabel screamed, her teeth shot out;

My god what had I done!?

She moaned and groaned then shouted out:

"Step on the other one"!!

Well readers, I can't tell no more;

About what occurred that day.

Suffice to say my jet black hair,

Turned fifty shades of grey

"i make these to a high standard,as buyers in the past no.they are well happy with my craftmanship,re decaled with brighton belle decals,try and find another you wont." Sez it all, really.

Surely it should read:   " I make these to a standard when I'm high............" :wacko:

Perhaps the buyer likes collecting junk vintage models or intends selling them on as spares.

Ooh! Weathered coal! I think I had one of these locos back in the '50s, and surely it deserves a better fate than this?
