broadbent
I've bought quite a few things on Ebay, many brilliantly cheap. I always investigate the market price first, and I always add in the cost of postage, including a Hornby Class 8 shunter with sound for just over £100. I've also bought items that I have had to send back, mostly locos, because they don't work. Always got my money back. But many people go crazy on Ebay. I just walk away. The Bigbee Line
The RRP for a new Bachmann 30-160 Rural Commuter set is £99.99. Why would anyone buy this for a tenner more: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bachmann-30-160-Rural-Commuter-set-with-Class-105-2-car-DMU-in-BR-green-/151187373488?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item2333783db0 Also, I'm not sure how these `points' are going to fit in with the rest of my layout: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRI-ANG-RAILWAYS-R101-MkZA-LEFT-HAND-POINTS-BOXED-c1960-/251377578646?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item3a87457296 Thought there was a bargain to be had here - then I saw the description : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-SCOTSMAN-SET-/291036590456?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item43c321f178 Struggling to see how a `self adhesive ginger beard' would deal with my 1 in 40 incline... If the points are anything like the brake van http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRI-ANG-RAILWAYS-c1960-N-E-BRAKE-VAN-R16-BOXED-/251182457253?pt=UK_Trains_Railway_Models&hash=item3a7ba421a5 , with bent roof, a nice hat might be better. It's actually a mind numbing pain putting multiple items onto ebay, matching the correct image with items tomorrow.

RMweb Gold JCL Posted December 13, 2013 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 13, 2013 Not eBay, but impressive. I would agree she's lovely, but there seems to be something missing (expensive to replace) an there is no mention as to whether she actually works, so £45 would be expensive, but that's down to the buyer, of course. This one looks a better buy and you get the coaches too. It's actually a mind numbing pain putting multiple items onto ebay, matching the correct image with items tomorrow. The brake van is the Tri-ang Railways R.16, pre 1956, and made from Cellulose Acetate Plastic. They mostly go like that..Warp-capable Plastic! After 1956, and with Polystyrene Plastic, warping became (mostly) a thing of the past..... It is actually not a bad brake van, and is complete with the separate metal running boards...these can go missing, and often are!
