well i sold my peak, then got a message to say he had cleaned off the weathering so it looked pristine, that to me is madness.

Madness or not, its like something I might do.   [troll mode] Who wants a dirty train on their layout? [/troll mode] :sarcastic:

Interesting way to make a bit on your £2.99 spend I guess - rip it apart and sell (roughly) 2/3's of it on:

I'm wondering what became of the chassis now...

EDIT: Had he included the magic word `spares' in the title, both would have probably have fetched circa double what they have on them now.

The 'Lucky Dip' loco kit.  God knows what this is/was supposed to be (the bit stuck to where the funnel should be looks LBSCish) but may be worth a punt for a laugh:

Oh, that's "flossytusslepot". He seems to make a good living selling otherwise very hard-to-get Hornby spares. What surprised me was his ability to get hold of the "rare birds" - damaged L1 and 42xx bodies (some of them spectacularly damaged), though even he couldn't acquire a broken Hornby B1!

When I first noticed the volume of Hornby-China scrap passing through his hands, I did wonder whether the average British RTR buyer was now getting increasingly clumsy, or whether he had some private arrangement with Hornby to take all the damaged returns off their hands.

Now these are the Genuine article "NOT REPRO" and defiantly "NOT TO BE MISTAKEN FOR HERITAGE RAILWAYS DEPOT DIESEL STICKERS."

Shame then that they spelt KD Kingmoor wrong there’s no S in it... Kingsmoor  :scratchhead:

Agreed.

Part of my interest is the fact that it's window arrangement (location of luggage area) is incorrect for a Jaffa CEP.

looking at some of the pictures there is a lot of reflection around the transfers. Most likely it will also need a respray with dullcote or something to hide the transfer film.

The paint job does not look too good, you can see heavy overpainting with a brush particularly on the orange.

In the one photo it looks like the paint has been damaged by some sort of solvent.
