Thames 611
I have a feeling that some big dealers on eBay have second or third accounts as iv bid on similar items and lost out to the same buyers on several occasions only to see the same items back on a week or two later at a much higher price by one of the big dealers. RMweb Gold Re6/6 Posted August 9, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 9, 2015 Another gem from Cartmel Toys. Seriously though, how can anybody who is supposed to be in business be too lazy to check the 'finished product' before listing?

Seriously though, how can anybody who is supposed to be in business be too lazy to check the 'finished product' before listing? Perhaps it's a deliberate ploy to get everyone's attention, with the hope that people will click "See other items" and then buy something. Il Grifone
That risks the whole business going down the drain! Keith That sounds too good to be true! The item consists of a Tri-ang TT 'Jinty' and two coaches (not worth a lot), some track (only fit for the bin) and a beat up box. £30 all in? The sink appears to be a Tri-ang dolls house item from the dim and distant past (50s judging by the awful pattern on the curtain). Possibly more 'collectable' than the train??? EDIT The sink's 20 quid if anyone's interested http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TRI-ANG-SPOT-ON-DOLLS-HOUSE-DOUBLE-DRAINER-SINK-UNIT-/301698083431 Edited August 10, 2015 by Il Grifone

jivebunny
Do I really believe I'll get paid ? No, no sir eeeeee Just looking at the bids and automatic bids on that one. The person with zero feedback actually put in a maximum bid of £100 on the 9th, presumably expecting that to be more than anyone else would be willing to pay for it thus winning him the item. eBay's been automatically out-bidding others on his behalf since then. Nothing suspicious there other than the fact it's a new account (we all had zero feedback at one point!). Then another bidder, with a feedback score of 486, came along and also placed a maximum bid of £100. When two people place the same maximum bid, the system deems the first bidder to be in the lead. This same second bidder then bid an extra £2 to get ahead. I think you just have a case of two people really, really, really wanting a Heljan Freightliner 86 body! You always have to be wary of accounts with zero feedback, but someone with a high feedback score is unlikely to mess around bidding on stuff they don't intend to pay for.
