EBay madness

Or on the other hand, whether they actually physically have the item to sell? I had that once, paid for an item and it never arrived. He swore blind he'd posted it after I "gently reminded" him. Needless to say, a dispute was resolved via paypal.....

I have personally dealt with the seller before and they were very good, very prompt and the item was immaculate. I don't doubt that they had the item for one second. I was certainly not questioning the sellers honesty but was amazed that some people still pay these prices despite the new model coming out.

I paid slighlty more :( for my version in 2009 so was a bit miffed when Modelzone announced their new version!

I have been watching an original Model Rail Baccy RTC Class 24 and was amazed to see that it went for £211 plus postage. I guess that news about the new Modelzone version which will sell for £71.99 hasn't filtered far and wide yet!

Chris

Modelrail, or Rail Express...? I sold one of the latter for a bit of a profit when the magazine were still selling the last few for £50 (i did intend to repaint a normal 24 but never got round to it).

Rails have also managed to get over 200 quid for the Modelrail Virgin class 90, now they seem to go really cheaply.

Did anyone notice the flangeway snow ploughs (£25) sell for £36+£4 postage tonight. Last night a Bachmann Royal Mail TPO (£30) sold for £55+£5 postage. Does no one actually look at retailers anymore? Best of it was there was a weathered TPO selling for £27 buy now.

Absolutely Nuts!

Someone, somewhere, is having a giraffe....

I've got one of those, and my box is in better condition!

I suspect this is another misplaced decimal point though. £14.99 would be a far more realistic start. On the other hand, you would think these people would notice at the point they get charged the listing fee?

Yes, I think I saw something about a freebie for May 7/8. I have sent him a "question" asking whether he is serious about £1500. The general level of presentation of his advert does not lead me to believe him to be a MENSA member - but then, neither am I!

Yet again!!!!!!!!

New: A brand-new, unused, unopened and undamaged item.

He's done very well to weather it in the box, far better modeller than me.

He says

It has been weathered by spraying and dry brushing. The 'unopened' box term is a standard statement on the ebay template and cannot be altered by the seller. If you look at all the other listings they all say the same.

I say, if its not true, then don't list it as such

Brand new untouched 51 year old male, one careful owner , still in the wrapper. Had him for twenty years want to exchange him for a newer model, or one that's got more cash,

Hold on you've got me typing this.

Do I infer that Sharon has come to her senses and is looking for a trade-in?

And, lo and behold http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=320696081886&ssPageName=ADME:X:RTQ:GB:1123

He did reply to my "question" which they (idiot sellers) often don't.
