Pete Harvey
The Red DB Livery Strikes again, how many red locos have died once they have had that livery applied to them? Pete Edited September 16, 2011 by Pete Harvey
Coach bogie
The Red DB Livery Strikes again, how many read locos have died once they have had that livery applied to them? Pete With 07 failed , now back at Toton, 11 failed at Warrington awaiting a tow to Toton, thats both red ones out. Now 19 failed at Margam, not a good week for the 60's. Only six class 60's in traffic as of this morning. Mike Wiltshire Edited September 10, 2011 by Coach bogie
Arpleymodeller
37419,37670 and now 60007 and 60011- all these DBS red locos arent reliable locos! Unsurprisingly the only reliable DBS liveried locos are all GMs- 59206,67018,66097 and 66152 although 92009,92016 and 92042 are non GM DBS liveried locos too. big T
Thats because 37419 and 670 were merely repainted. A real POTOS (Paint On Top Of S***) job!! 670 came off Margam in a right 2 and 8! It doesn't matter what manufacturer built them - its the maintenence regimes that keep em going! or not....! Arpleymodeller
True, although more than 30 years separate 37419 & 37670 from the GMs!
NickL2008
when 37670 was brought back into service it was badly faded, no maintainence was carried out as far as im aware (?) ... no wonder it failed , a shame really and with all of DBs 37s gone to DRS now, how many will keep thier original livery? RMweb Premium newbryford Posted September 11, 2011 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 11, 2011 and with all of DBs 37s gone to DRS now, how many will keep thier original livery? Allegheny1600
Spotted 60 040 (the 'Army' liveried one!) hauling (coal?) hoppers, crossing the M6 motorway somewhere to the south of Thelwall viaduct on Saturday 10th September, probably about 17.30-18.00 hours. Sorry I can't be more specific, was driving (& towing!) at the time! Cheers, John E.

Arpleymodeller
Ergo you have answered your own question! DBS and the old EWS did give the GMs much more attention and run into the ground the 'tractors'! Edited September 15, 2011 by Arpleymodeller

Arpleymodeller
According to WNXX 60003 and 60033 are being worked on at Toton? big T
They are probably the next ones selected for the refurb programme......I would laugh if some wag reports 070 or 098 being next in line!
